When their moment was over, Bonnie fell asleep shortly after that. Kai watched her sleep for a bit, cursing the universe. Because this was what he wanted. Kai wanted Bonnie Bennett to love him purely out of the desire in her heart and now she did. But she only admitted it because she was dying.
He stepped out of the chamber, making his way upstairs to the group. Caroline was pacing as Valerie and Elena discussed. "Is she ready for me?"
Kai shook his head, sighing. "She just fell asleep."
"Okay, I've stressed out every possible option and I've come down to three," Valerie declared, everyone turning to her.
"Care to elaborate?" Damon said, sipping from the bottle of bourbon. Kai felt almost inclined to grab a glass too.
"At first, my solution to this problem was that we get Bonnie to forge Another Side, solely for supernaturals. But with her energy spent, Bonnie can barely withstand a simple cloaking spell. This led me to remember, during the study Lily forced me to do, I stumbled upon a case similar to Bonnie's," she was explaining. "It was a little girl, learning the handles of magic. She'd grown up as a human but eventually discovered her magic. This drastic change interfered with her magic because as a young girl, her body goes through changes. Puberty, the spike of mental issues as her age progresses. She was not prepared for the overload of magic, thus creating confusion between her mind and body. We all know that Bonnie learned of her magic in the same manner as well but the only reason why this hadn't happened then was because she had the aid of her Grandmother, the mental support. It is also known that the Bennett Bloodline is powerful and I can only conclude that this is the reason why she was spared. Regardless, as I examined the girl, there was no apparent cure for the magic disease. She died of course, illness in a young body is difficult with all the cells not fully matured yet. But I motivated myself to figure it out and I rested the case, presuming the girl would have been salvaged if she had black magic in her system."
"Black magic?" Mary Louise scoffed. "That's impure, it would destroy Bonnie. Not much help, it might even accelerate this sickness."
"Not exactly. Black magic needs a host to fester in, it can't kill it. But its intentions are impure, I can agree with that," Valerie said.
"So option one is to put black magic into Bonnie, have it heal her but then use her for bad deeds? Next option, please," Stefan commanded.
"Wait, wait." Caroline held her hand up. "Why can't we just use the Crown of Mortem as we did for Elena? Wait for Bonnie to pass, start the process and now she's back."
Damon snorted in a mean manner. "Have you lost your mind? Not everything went according to plan and we almost lost everyone. Not to mention, we'd need Gemini #1 and #2 and I doubt Ric will let his children anywhere near magic ever again. Thanks for ruining the wedding by the way." Damon raised the bottle to Kai and continued chugging from it.
"Our second option works a bit like the human world. I understand that when a human has cancer, they go through the process of chemotherapy?" Valerie held out a piece of paper, showing a sort of electrical bathtub with wires everywhere. "This is a dark artifact and it was crafted to re-wire certain parts of the brain. Witches use it for--"
"For mentally ill kids, rebel witches and whatnots," Kai interrupted, the memory flooding back. "There's a chair too." Most of the room narrowed their eyes at him but Valerie continued.
"We try to shock away the confusion in her head to match what her body is claiming and voila. Problem solved," she said and people nodded, using this as their safest option.
Kai shook his head immediately. "The process is painful and it takes almost up to 5+ years for it to work." It's where his father had sent him when he assumed Kai killed his mother.
"You sure know a lot about this," Elena said warily.
Kai rolled his eyes. "All of these ideas are terrible. What I think is that since magic wants a life, we give it life but just not Bonnie's. The transferring is simple and I volunteer since you all hate me." He had come to terms with his decision the moment Bonnie fell asleep. Since it was all his fault, it'd make sense if it were up to him. Out of it all, he knew Bonnie deserved to be happy after all he'd done.
"I definitely agree with that." Damon nodded repeatedly and the room shared their agreements too.
Except for Nora. "Absolutely not." Unlike the rest, she knew that Bonnie was in love with Kai. And with all Bonnie had told her, her past history about loving people did nothing for her, resulting in everyone dying. Nora knew it must have been hard for Bonnie to allow herself to love again and she knew that it was her duty to protect her friend. If Kai died now, because of her, she wouldn't survive and Nora knew it as a fact.
"I'm sorry, who invited you to the party? I don't remember asking for your opinion, Heretic Relic," Damon spat.
Mary Louise growled. "Say that again and you'll find yourself without a tongue," she started for Damon but Nora held a hand out.
"I'm not repeating myself once more. Kai is not dying. And if anyone in this hall dares to oppose this, I will rip your head off," Nora threatened.
Kai held a finger up. "Uh, I oppose to this declaration? I don't think you understand the word volunteer."
Nora ignored him and turned to Valarie. "You said there were three options, what's the last?"
Valerie swallowed. "It appears that Kai has shared my thoughts."
"Oh this is fantastic!" Damon drawled, his tolerance for alcohol low since he was a human. "Welcome back to Mystic Trivia of the Supernaturals. Your best witch friend is dying from a terminal disease and the clock is ticking faster than you can say vampire. You have three options. You, A), pump her with black magic that will apparently heal her but turn her into Bonnie Bad Bennett. You, B), electric shock her brain for 5 years straight because who doesn't love a bit of pain. Or you, C), trade her life for a murderer, a sociopath, an idiot, and go home, living happily ever after. What's that? My, my, you are correct! The answer is C, kill Kai Parker for Bonnie Bennett. The choices aren't difficult."
"Damon, this is not funny," Elena sighed, crossing her arms.
"Apparently it is because we're all hesitating at a chance to kill him to save our best friend. He volunteered and I call that killing 2 birds with one stone," Damon yelled.
"And Nora said that it's not an option," Mary Louise said, anger stressed in her sentence.
"I don't care about what your--" He didn't have a chance to finish when she flitted to him, grabbing the half-gone bottle of whiskey and smashed it against his face. Damon grunted, falling to the floor. His face was bleeding and Mary Louise hovered above him.
Elena tried to interfere but Nora stood guard, pushing Kai behind her. "It's been a while since I've jogged my legs. I'm the mood for some old-fashioned vampire killing."
Mary Louise swiped her fingers across Damon's head, retracting his blood. She popped her thumb into her mouth, grey veins rippling under her red eyes. "I've been wanting to have a taste of Salvatore blood. But I bet the carotid artery is much better."
The mood in the room shifted. Elena felt her world shake as Mary Louise's fangs approached Damon's neck. "Okay, okay. Kai's off the table."
"Um, what?" Damon said, bloody face mere inches from the Heretic. "Let her kill me then kill Kai."
He was ignored and Mary Louise backed off. Nora smiled. "I'm glad to see we're on the same page, Elena Gilbert." She turned to the others. "Now, how are we going to save the witch?"

"No magic? Oh that's my fault. I was spooning you earlier. I think I might've sleep siphoned you."
