Freya was panting now and her hand was shaking by the time she grabbed the knife. She cut her own palm and forced herself to her feet. "Expulser l'essence immortelle, la contenir à ma volonté," she chanted along. Freya stood at the lip of the pier, her blood seeping into the lake. "Expulser l'essence immortelle, la contenir à ma volonté."
Kai uncapped the vial of his blood and poured it in the water along with her blood. "Expulser l'essence immortelle, la contenir à ma volonté."
Hayley was in the far back, anxiously watching the spell. Countless wolves were howling now. "They're saying that Klaus is on the lookout for you guys. It's only a matter of time before he finds you here. How much longer?"
"Just a little more," Bonnie said, her eyes closed. "Expulser l'essence immortelle, la contenir à ma volonté."
Freya let herself fall into the lake. It was only a matter of time until she rose into the air, unconscious and wet. Bonnie swallowed, as Kai unzipped the duffel bag, revealing four ancient amulets. With Kai's blood and his siphoning abilities, she was able to lure the Hollow out, giving them enough time to set the trap.
"Expulser l'essence immortelle." The blue light shone bright and it was all white for half-second. The moment the amulets absorbed the Hollow, Freya sunk back into the lake, and the ancient necklaces fell into Kai's hands.
Hayley dove into the lake to retrieve Freya's body and then Jackson appeared. They spoke in hushed tones and she handed Freya to him. Rebekah emerged too, panting from her run. "I'm here. What the bloody hell is going on? Klaus is dripping with fury."
Kai handed her the four trinkets. "Take these and place them in the buildings." He recited four locations circling the city.
"What is it going to do?"
"It's only a matter of time until the Hollow breaks out and completely hunts Hope down." Bonnie's Initial Conjuration knew this. "It's too powerful to be permanently contained into an object so once all four amulets are placed into all four locations, I will be able to banish it since I've separated its overall mass of magic. Get them to the sites as soon as possible."
Rebekah didn't ask any more questions and was off into the middle of the night.
"We need to find the center of the city to be able to start the spell to defeat the Hollow," Bonnie turned back to them, placing a hand on her spine to support her aching back.
"Only problem is, where is the center?" Kai pointed out.
"Isn't that easy? The Lafayette Cemetery, it's where all the witches did all their knickknacks," Hayley stated.
"The cemetery is the heart of the city. The heart is the most important part of the body but it's not the center," Bonnie shook her head.
In the silence, all of their wheels began to turn. Until Kai revealed, "Rousseau's cafe. It's where everything began."

By the time Klaus arrived at the Bayou with his herd of vampires, Bonnie, Kai and Freya were gone. Which only left Hayley. She stood in front of the cabin, arms crossed.
Klaus looked pissed off. "Where are they?"
"Oh, you didn't hear? They're doing their nails. I didn't know you wanted to tag along, I would have called you," she mused.
Klaus's hand jerked out, gripping her arm with force. "I am not here to fool around, Hayley."
Hayley blinked, her gaze falling to where his hand held her arm. "Get your hands off me." Klaus's mouth twitched but he respectfully took a step back. Hayley's golden eyes dimmed. "Bonnie has a plan. Freya is not the enemy, the Hollow is. And the more time you waste chasing the wrong person, the more Hope has to pay. So get your head in the game and wake up Klaus. Our family is not the enemy."
"Freya is not part of our family—"
"She is now. I'm not even related to her and I can see that. Are you willing to lose our child for this grudge? This fear? Because I am going to do everything to protect my baby and it's about damn time you stop playing around with teddy bears and come to fight with the AK 47's," she hissed and shouldered past him.
Klaus stood there, gazing out into the lake, thinking. It didn't take long for him to recollect himself, following after Hayley. "What's the plan?"

Bonnie got a message that Rebekah had properly planted the amulets and now it was up to her to begin the spell. Kai was with Elijah and Bonnie was speeding once again down the streets. Before she could fall on the road to the café, a liquid began to pull at her feet. She glanced down and she realized that her water just broke. "Oh god, not now." But deep down, she knew that she had to prepare for the birth. Maybe she could get Kai to start the spell at least—
She diverted her pathway to the church, wobbling painfully in. Father Kieran was in the middle of a mass and the image of a pregnant woman in labor must have been what terrified the people away.
"Bonnie," Father Kieran said, quickly approaching her side. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I just need to get this baby out as quickly as possible before the phantom of death decides to shadow this city. Nothing major," she chuckled nervously. He helped her up into the altar, making it comfortable.
"Oh—okay. Do you—do you like want an epidural or something? I—don't know how to do this, I've never—"
"I said quickly, Father Kierran," Bonnie snapped, her forehead already starting to bead with sweat.
He nodded and soon, a series of women in robes neared her, prepping her for the birth. Soon, Bonnie was all in position and a beautiful, tall woman came to her side, holding her hand. "Do you have a significant other? I can call him."
"Kai's busy," she said, taking deep breaths. "He'll just have to take one for the team."
"Oh," Father Kierran flushed, clearing his throat. "Was I not supposed to call him? Because he said he's on his way—"
"He's supposed to be working at Rousseau's—" Bonnie's eyes widened, especially as the doors slammed open, revealing Kai himself.
He ran rapidly to the altar, taking the place of the woman. "I'm here."
"You're not supposed to be here, you idiot," she hissed, chest heaving. "The Hollow—"
"Let's really not think about that right now. Taking a maternity leave. We're about to have a baby," he said, linking and tightening their hands together. He kissed their knuckles and smiled down at her.
Bonnie couldn't protest at this point and she found herself settling back. "I love you," she said.
"If you love me, you're going to push as hard as you can." If Bonnie could hit him, she would have. But she did just that, she pushed with all her might and she felt as though her insides were ripping from within, pain erupting everywhere.
Push, push, push, the lady was saying. Push, BonBon, the love of her life was saying. Push.
Bonnie was screaming, vision blurry, with all her energy seeping away into pushing the child out and the pain was so excruciating, she didn't know that it was over until their yells of "push" stopped. Her eyesight momentarily returned and Kai reappeared in her vision. His hand had loosened and his face—his face was grim with despair and anguish. "What's wrong?" She was asking, almost begging. "What happened?" whathappenedwhat'swrongwhathappenedwhat's wrong.
Deep down, she already knew. Yet she didn't want to admit it, didn't want to even think about it. But the truth was there, the reality of her choice laid bare before her. The woman approached Bonnie's side, laying the corpse of the child in her arms.
