By the time Bonnie could walk a couple of steps, she stopped when she spotted Kai making his way towards her with Hayley unconscious over his shoulder. Bonnie's mind was immediately drowned with worry, mixed in with her previous vision. "Is she alright, what happened?"

Kai reached her, panting slightly. "Oh her? Pfft, she's fine. Found her sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up. What about you, are you okay?"

"I'm alive. I just had a vision." Bonnie swallowed, eyes trailing back to the wolf. "We cannot trust the witches. We get back to the plantation, find Elijah and protect Hayley from the witches in this city." She was reprogramming Marcel's plan.

"What did you see?" Kai narrowed his eyes, night finally watching from above. The bracelet he'd given her let Bonnie sleep but he doubted it pushed back her capabilities.

"I'll tell you later. Right now, I don't like the fact that we're out in the open." Bonnie turned, prepared to step back in the tracks they came in. Only, she stumbled back when two vampires stood there. They blocked the way out.

"Where are you two going?" The man said, hairline receding far back. "Marcel made a deal with Elijah, you're meant to be bringing her to Joe, who's waiting at the warehouse."

Kai dropped Hayley, handing her to Bonnie. Thanks to the spell, the wolf was out could for another hour or so. She tried to support her weight as much as possible with one of Hayley's arms around her shoulder. Kai stepped up, cocking his head. "You see, I think there's been a slight change of plans. Apparently, we can't let our friend here near any witch and your buddy Marcel is thoroughly involved with them so....sorry you're not invited to the party."

"Diego was right, you're nothing but a couple of backstabbers." The second man's nose flared as he took a threatening step forward. His right hand twitched with visible anger and the whole arm was muscular and large.

"I hate to say he told you so," Kai tsked with a fake pout. He held his two hands out, lips forming a spell. "Mentis desolati."

The effects of the magic were momentarily painful to the two vampires and they winced but Kai was caught off guard when they recovered quickly. One flitted to Kai, eyes red and raged while the other moved towards Bonnie. She braced herself, trying to divert Hayley away from any impact and prepared a mental spell. Before Kai had a chance to flinch, in two seconds, the attackers dropped to the floor, dead for good.

Klaus and Elijah emerged, hearts still in their hands. Their fingers and palms were coated in fresh blood and it took a moment for Bonnie and Kai to register the moment. "Good evening, fellas. It's been a long time, Kai Parker," Klaus jerked his head towards the Siphoner for acknowledgment.

"Hey mate, what's good?" Kai chuckled, eyes wandering back to Bonnie in question.

She didn't know how to respond, watching as Elijah reached into his breast jacket graciously to pull out a handkerchief. He slowly cleaned his fingers, eyes lingering on Bonnie and Hayley. Once he was finished with the show, he held his hands out and Bonnie hesitated. But in due time, she transferred Hayley's body to his and Elijah ended up holding the wolf bridal style.

"Well, well, well," Klaus mused, eyes circling the two dead decaying bodies on the ground. "I wonder how mad little Marcellus will be once he hears of his fallen soldiers. I've got to admit, when I lost my toys, I became a beast on opioids."

"We need to head back to that mansion." Bonnie swallowed, still trying to figure out why Kai's magic didn't work as effectively as usual. The same thing had happened at the bar as if their magic weren't as strong the moment they walked into New Orleans. Bonnie hoped this little hiccup would fix itself now that it had somehow spread to Kai as well. "I'll put a boundary spell around it but we need to limit any witch contact."

"Why is that?" Elijah muttered, his posture not straying from the fact that he was holding another being.

"I saw a vision. We can't trust the witches."

"And how do you assume that you're excluded from the group?" Klaus's eyebrows rose in question.

"Don't make me remind you what a Bennett and Gemini witch can do," Kai threatened, completely ignorant to the fact that an undying hybrid stood before him.

Klaus snorted, tucking his hands behind his back. "Please, do tell. Tell me how you witches, who couldn't handle two measly vampires, can take on 2 fully-fledged vampires who can't die? Oh, let's not forget, I'm also a hybrid." Kai couldn't respond and a grin broke Klaus's face. "You're already on my list to kill, number 14 to be exact, for the suffering you brought upon Caroline, don't anger me even more."

Bonnie couldn't resist the urge to snap at him. "Right, right. Caroline. My best friend, your pending girlfriend. I wonder how she's doing. I mean you clearly don't know because you're over here with the woman you accidentally impregnated--who was the girlfriend to her abusive ex-- and she's out of the state, crying her heart out. So I'm just kind of shocked at your claim of caring for Caroline."

The smile was cleanly wiped out Klaus's face and his mouth moved angrily, prepared to form words. Elijah beat him to it. "Niklaus, I think it's best we follow Bonnie's instructions and head back to the mansion. My shoes are getting dirtier by the minute."

As he said this, Hayley seemed to stir in his arms and Klaus' and Elijah's gaze fell to her. Klaus watched her shift slightly, almost mesmerized by the movement. He averted his gaze, tucking his lips in. "Lead the way then. We'll deal with this later."
