mutual feelings

Kai adjusted him so that he was laying back on the couch with Bonnie above him. She lowered herself to his lips again, grinding against his lower parts. Kai was enjoying every part of it, his fingers roaming every inch of her body like a map. He cupped the back of her head and dug his nails into her scalp in a way that wasn't too painful.

They broke contact for a second, giving Bonnie time to peel off her tank top to reveal her black bra. Kai settled his hands on her thigh, glorifying every aspect of her curves, her raw beauty. He decided to take charge and flipped them over abruptly. Bonnie couldn't help but laugh at his efforts to be masculine even though they both knew he was a cub at heart. For her at least. He threw his own shirt somewhere back and this uncovered his chiselled chest. Bonnie found herself touching every part of skin showing, as if painting a visual recollection of the moment in her mind.

With his legs between hers, spreading them wide, he leaned in and began to pepper her face with pecks of kisses. Her lips, her nose, her cheeks, her chin, her neck, her cleava—

The doorbell buzzed and the two sprang apart like two wrong sides of a magnet. Kai fell back at the sudden noise and Bonnie scrambled up to a sitting position, arm above her chest. Her eyes were wide and she crawled over the couch, retrieving her shirt before standing to her feet. Kai struggled to wipe his annoyed expression when she went to open the door, running a hand through his dark locks.

Bonnie cleared her throat, patting her hair down before reaching forward to turn the knob.

Cami stood there with her bright smile. "Hello, sorry to stop by under such notice but I felt like I needed to come and see what we were going to do for your birthday?" She pushed past Bonnie casually, looking through her bag. "I bought you these trip tickets to Miami, I remember you told me something about never going there. I think it's crazy so I knew that these would be perfect. I bought three, two for the two of you obviously but I wasn't sure if you wanted me to tag along—"

"Hi, Cami," Bonnie interrupted with a smile that seemed too wide. The human had somehow wormed her way into Bonnie's life. A couple of days ago, when Kai and Bonnie were on a date, the bartender offered them drinks on the house and claimed that she knew that they were in close relation to Klaus. Now, here she was. Bonnie didn't think much of it, especially since she was close to Father Kierran but there were moments where she went overboard.

"Hi," she said breathlessly.

Kai emerged, shirt back in place and hair dishevelled. "Yes, hi cockblocker."

Bonnie gave him a murderous glare but Cami caught on pretty quick. "Oh. Oh. Did I interrupt anything? Oh god, I am so sorry," she slapped her palm against her forehead, cheeks stained red. "I should have texted or given you a warning."

"No, no, it's fine. Kai and I were just...wrapping up," Bonnie swallowed, holding her hands in front of her awkwardly. "And thanks for the tickets, I really appreciate it." She took the slips of paper.

"No problem," Cami nodded. "Anyways, I ran into Elijah and he said he wanted to see you."

Bonnie smiled truthfully at that. It had been a while since they had called her in, Bonnie convinced herself that they were avoiding her even though she literally carried the victory win. "Alright—"

"No, it's okay, I can go," Kai jumped in quickly. Bonnie didn't know that it was his fault that the Mikaelson's hadn't reached out to her, he was trying to shelter her from any exhausting spells. It was why he offered to break the Crescent spell when Klaus suggested Bonnie to do so.

"It's fine. I want to see Hayley. I don't even know the name of their child. Plus I think it's time to get back to...work." I want to see what the official rules are for the city. Bonnie shook her head, scanning the apartment for her coat and keys. Cami still didn't know that they were all supernaturals so they had to avoid certain vocabulary.

"But what about staying in? Eating food, doing birthday things? I'll even accept to go to the stupid spa," Kai offered, completely passing by Cami like she wasn't in the building and stood in front of Bonnie.

She narrowed her eyes, walking around him to retrieve her things in their bedroom. "Thanks, but I'm fine."

Kai watched her disappear and gave Cami a dangerous glare that she only shrugged at. "He specifically wanted her."

Kai rolled his eyes with annoyance and went to grab his things too. "I'm coming with you," he declared.

Bonnie didn't seem bothered by it and the three of them descended down the elevator. Once they reached the ground floor, she turned to Cami. "Thanks for letting me know. See you tomorrow."

The bartender waved at the duo, yelling, "Happy Birthday!"

By the time they arrived at the compound, Bonnie was shocked to see buff men stationed at every corner of the perimeter, patrolling the property. They had to speak with a man who controlled the security to be able to get in.

They were led into the clearing where Klaus and Elijah waited patiently. Kai's eyes wandered and stared at all the men—vampires-- who were staring back. "I don't think you guys got the memo. Fight's over, wars over. So last week."

"Nothing is ever over, Kai. We continue to have shortages of enemies, idiots that believe they have a proper shot to defeat our family. These are just precautions because as you very well know, there is a child in the loop," Klaus grinned. His eyes fell to Bonnie. "Welcome back friend, we've missed you."

Bonnie tried not to let her confusion show and she nodded in gratitude. "Feeling is mutual. I think I kind of miss the disturbance your family brings."

Elijah chuckled at that, taking a step forward to hug her. "I do hope you've had time to recover."

"Why? Do you need me for something? Is that why I am here?" Bonnie questioned rapidly, squeezing the Original before pulling away.

Just as she said this, quick footsteps surfaced out into the yard and there she was. Hayley. She looked the same but...not. Her features were sharper, more strict, more developed. Her hair was cut shorter, shoulder-length and she looked packed with more muscle. Had she been training? With one glance at Elijah, Bonnie knew. The wolf looked healthy, nothing like the broken woman from the week before. "Bonnie," she grinned, taking long strides to meet the witch with a hug. "Why haven't you called me? With Rebekah gone, I thought you ghosted too. These idiots only talk about killing people 24/7, it's driving me crazy."

Bonnie laughed as Klaus rolled his eyes. "I've been here and there. It feels like it's been forever."

Kai clapped his hand abruptly, diverting the attention to him. "While all of this is cute and mushy, Bonnie and I have a birthday to celebrate, so chop, chop. Why are we here?"

"It's your birthday?" Hayley demanded with shock. "Shoot, I didn't get you anything. I didn't even know."

"It's fine, I don't want anything," she said and changed the subject. "So how is everything? I heard the Crescent Curse was broken, how are you and Jackson? How is the baby? What's her name?" Silence fell and Bonnie could almost hear the movements of air particles.

Elijah cleared his throat. "That is exactly why we've called you. We were hoping that you could fix it."

"Fix...what?" Was the baby sick? After one week? Bonnie's stomach seemed to want to empty out but she held her ground.

Little small padding of footsteps erupted in the hall and Bonnie turned her head to see...a small child. She had beautiful bronze hair, brushing her shoulders and big light cerulean eyes. She was babbling and drooling, her fingers shoved all up in her mouth.

Bonnie frowned as the statistics all added up. "Wait...it's only been a week."

Hayley nodded. "Her name is Hope. She started teething 2 days ago and started walking just before that."

"I don't understand, she was born just last week, how is she this big?" Bonnie asked herself.

"We were anticipating that a witch like you could decipher this but it seems you're as clueless as we are," Elijah stated, slipping his hand inside of his pocket.

"So if this is just another setup, I'll rip something out more important than a spleen. Like a tongue or a heart. So, any closing remarks?"
