interesting and fun

After Kai's response to her proposal, it was a blur on what happened next. There was a flush of cool air and she found herself in an abandoned cabin. It also didn't take long for Kai to pick up the girls, both still in their wedding gowns.

He entered through the broken door, both girls at his hands. Josie was smiling as she said, "Did we win hide and seek? Aunt Bonnie helped us play and it was so fun!"

Kai chuckled, glancing at the brown-haired girl. "Although I said you couldn't tell anyone, it was quite fun. I can't blame you, we're both blabbermouths at heart. Now...are you two ready to have more fun?"

Bonnie watched them exchange their words, amazed at how Josie was reacting to him. In all the time Bonnie had known her, she wasn't all that verbal. And Lizzie...

"I have a very bad feeling," the blonde-haired toddler whined. "I want to see daddy and mommy."

"It's okay, Liz, you'll see your dad very soon." He had purposefully excluded their mother and it disgusted Bonnie how neutral he was about it. He had killed--murdered his twin sister at her wedding and was now soothing her kids into thinking that all was well, using them in the process. She shook her head. As long as they were fine once Kai was finished, she could leave.

Kai approached, acknowledging her presence. "We're all ready." Bonnie faltered a bit, taken aback when 7-10 witches appeared, thanks to a cloaking spell, and started chanting around the room. Bonnie pivoted, staring at them each in the eye to determine if she was seeing things. "I might have picked up a couple of people here and there." With that being said, he motioned for the girls to sit in the center of the room. Kai later reached in his pocket and pulled out a red ruby stone--

"The Phoenix Stone. How did you get that, I thought it was destroyed?" Bonnie's eyes widened at the pulsating rock, circular and palm-sized.

"In this world it was. When I was in the prison world, I scavenged every inch of the world, on the hunt for every magical object to help me get out of the world and obviously, most were nullified. I quickly selected the ones that were more powerful and the ones that would benefit me in the future. I guess I was right." He glared at the stone, turning it in his line of vision.

Bonnie took a deep breath. "So you're bringing back a couple of Heretics...and the deal for Elena still stands?"

Kai stared at her in silence, pondering for himself. Eventually, he answered, "We'll just have to see. I mean, it depends on how I'm feeling in the moment, you know?"

Bonnie swallowed, shaking her head slightly. "Of course. It always has to be about Kai Parker."

"Obviously. Who else would it be about? I'm one of those characters that carry the show. I make things interesting and fun, you gotta admit that," he scoffed, amusement dancing on his eyes and lips at the same time. Kai then looked back at the chanting witches, walking towards the girls. He placed the stone between their sitting posture and he started to whisper to them.

Bonnie quickly examined the room again, assuring herself she still had her magic. When it was time, she watched as he sang the tunes of magic. The rock was brighter now and the girls...Lizzie and Josie fell to the floor, looking like they were asleep. Bonnie took a step forward, concerned.

Kai clicked his tongue. "Don't interfere, BonBon. You don't want to know what happens when you come between the transferring of a bad hungry embodiment of death from two kids into a magical stone." He resumed the spell.

When the stone sparked and Kai's eyes opened, she knew it was done. Bonnie was about to reach for the sleeping children but Kai had worked quicker. He had two syringes, and Bonnie felt the flash of fear when the needle pierced their flesh.

Bonnie opened her mouth to speak but he spoke before she did. "Calm down," he said, pulling out a knife. He cut his palm, blood dripping. "It was either that or the knife."

Bonnie sighed, watching as he dripped his leaking blood over the stone. It didn't match the rock's, his blood was darker. Kai pulled out a vial, dipping the blood inside over his own. "What's that?" Bonnie asked.

Kai proceeded to shatter the syringes, the blood of the twins dripping as well. "The spell I need requires a generation of Gemini Witches and with the twins recently in tap with their siphoning abilities, it's not enough. So I collected Jo's blood before I slipped away and here we are. And to think about it, it's quite unfortunate that the girls inherited my bad genes with siphoning. At least my dad won't be around to screw them over as he did to me. But trust me, I'll take good care of them."

Bonnie scoffed. "Um, no. They have a father, a single one thanks to you. Ric's been going crazy, he needs to see his daughters and--"

"You think a human is going to teach the last of my generation how to control their growing thirst for magic? I can already see it in their eyes, especially Josie. Ric doesn't know our ways, BonBon, and it goes way beyond the merge."

"You can't just--"

"I can feel that you want to get angry. But...why are you holding back? Are you planning something behind my back? Because I'll be really angry and who knows...I might decide to not bring the crybaby vampire you all so desperately want back. Be careful, BonBon," Kai shrugged the blood over the stone swirling on its own. He was crouched over it, watching in awe.

"Well, knowing you, if I anger you, you'll just decide to break Lizzie's arm. Or who knows, cast a spell on Mystic Falls. These days, you're reckless." Bonnie crossed her arms.

Finally, at the indication that the Phoenix Stone was prepared, Kai chuckled. "Are you ready for a trip?"

Bonnie nodded. "We get Elena, we get a couple of Heretics, we come back and part ways."

"Right." There was an odd tone in his voice.

"And when we cross, what happens to Elena?"

"The usual. She should be in a deep slumber by now because with the fraction of her soul in the stone, the other part will follow. We just gotta dive in, find it and there. New, alive and refreshed doppelgänger and the twinsies can go back to worrying about the monster under their bed."

"You see this blood? I'm guessing that's not a good sign."
