"You know you didn't kill him, right?"

"Yeah, I know. Jeremy and Matt caught me up on how he uses his magic to make it easier to escape death. Typical Mystic Falls bullshit." This spell only lasts temporarily. Cheating death wasn't a light topic, Bonnie would know. Ric lowered his bow and approached the body, grabbing Kai's flailing arms. He hoisted the dead weight onto his shoulder. "Caroline checked in this morning."

Bonnie smiled at the reminder of her friend. Caroline was currently on a road trip with Klaus Mikaelson around the world. Bonnie couldn't remember but Caroline said something along the lines of 'He once promised to give me the world. It was only fair if I saw it first.'

"And? I'm guessing they're in Belgium." Bonnie couldn't wipe off the smile that widened on her face. Caroline always said she wanted to visit Belgium because her mother, the late Elizabeth Forbes, always wanted to live there. She followed Ric to his truck, disposing of Kai in the trunk.

"They found Damon," Ric said, rounding the back of the vehicle to stand in front of Bonnie.

Her blood had ran ice cold at the thought of him. Damon was human now, thanks to Kai forcing the cure down his throat. Bonnie remembered the moment vividly, along with the chaos that ensued. Kai was alongside them when the cure sat there, on a stone pillar. Everyone was so focused on it, they didn't notice Kai reach for Elena. The spree had begun then, Enzo trying to save the day. He flitted with his vampire speed, in an attempt to release Elena from the capture. Only, Kai had siphoned the magic from the Mystic border freshly and pulled his heart out instantly from his chest with his magic. Bonnie remembered feeling as though her own heart had been ripped out as well as his decaying body fell to the floor. Her scream was loud enough to ripple another world. Tyler tried as well, nearly at the same time as Caroline. He mumbled two spells, blinding Tyler and preventing Caroline from grabbing Elena. Caroline recoiled from the burn of her skin when it made contact with Elena's. Meanwhile, Elena was screaming through her muffled mouth, trying to writhe out his hold. Kai chuckled through the chaos and Damon tried to negotiate the release. Kai asked Damon to toss him the cure and they were all confused because he wasn't a vampire. It was quick when he ripped Elena's head right off like a sticker. He threw it further into the cave they were in and Damon bellowed, shouting in agony. Kai said another spell that broke his leg, causing Damon to fall to the floor. Kai took the opportunity to sneak up behind him, placing the capsule in his mouth and shattered it. Thus commencing the process of taking the cure. Everything, after that, was a blur and Bonnie. She only knew that Kai Parker had screwed them over.

Everyone scattered, Damon taking to his miserable life somewhere in the world, on the run from Rayna. Caroline went to Klaus for refuge. He promised to protect her, making sure that Kai would suffer in due time. Tyler went away with Hayley to the Appalachian Mountains.

Damon and Bonnie were friends, best of the best even. So imagine the hurt she felt when Enzo, the love of her life, died the same day he decided to up and leave without a word. Along with Elena, who had to be buried with a closed casket. Bonnie couldn't leave her room for months, the ache of the 3 people she cared about gone. Caroline was living her life and she couldn't use her own darkness to taint that.

Bonnie shook out of it and opened the car door. "How are the twins?"

"Bonnie--"

"How are Josie and Lizzy, Ric?" Bonnie said firmly, almost seething. The message was clear, she didn't want to hear of Damon. He could have stayed with her as they both mourned the death of the love of their lives. Instead, he added to the burden by leaving himself. He's Damon, he'll run at any sign of danger.

"The twins are fine. They start preschool on Monday, Josette says." Ric started the engine and drove through the town of Mystic Falls.

"How is Jo? I heard the wedding is coming up."

"She is stressing as hell. All of a sudden, she thinks that since she had children before marriage, we'll be cursed forever." Ric shook his head. "I didn't know she was religious in that type of way."

Bonnie shook her head. "She has nothing to stress about, that day will be the best day of your life. After Isobel, Jenna, and Meredith, you deserve this."

"Thank you, Bonnie," Ric said and meant it. He glanced at the back quickly. "What did Kai want with you anyways?"

Bonnie shook his head. "It's stupid. And out of this world."

"What?"

"You don't want to know."

"Tell me, it can't be that bad."

"He wanted a date."

The truck jerked to the right of the road a couple of times before Ric regained composure of the vehicle. "He what? Is he out of his mind?"

"Out of this world. But we need a plan for what we are going to do with him. First, I want him to take off the curse he put on Caroline and Tyler," Bonnie declared as they arrived on Salvatore property.

Ric put the car in park, opening the door. "Yes, of course. Matt is all ready with Jeremy inside. They'll take care of him."

Bonnie scoffed, stopping Ric from reaching the trunk with her hand. "Are you really going to put two humans, the weakest of the supernatural, in charge of a highly immortal sociopathic witch?"

"I would ask you--"

"But I don't have my magic, not since I came out the prison world. Which is why you need to find someone else."

"Who?" Bonnie remained silent and Ric sighed. "Look Bonnie, after everyone left, it's been up to us to protect Mystic Falls. Jo lost her magic as well if you remember."

"What about Stefan?" Bonnie questioned slowly.

"No. He is linked to Kathrine. If we wake him up, so does she and I don't feel like dealing with another problem."

Bonnie sighed heavily, briefly in thought. "I have an idea."

As Kai rose to his senses, the chains at his wrists jingled as he adjusted himself. He blinked his sleepy eyes away and laughed at the cell. He was in the famous Salvatore cell. He then glanced at the chains and laughed even harder. It didn't take long for him to recognize the short Bennett witch sitting a couple of feet from him.

"Hey BonBon," Kai giggled and glanced back at his chains. "I didn't know you were into this type of stuff but I'm down if you are---"

"Shut up, Parker," Bonnie snapped.

"Parker? Hey, we are so well aquatinted, you're not even using my name. To be honest, I prefer something along the lines of baby or honey or like...love? Nah, that feels old school. How about my universe. Of course, I'm fine with either, it's completely your choice BonBon."
