Elijah planned to give Davina time to air out her bad emotions before he sat down with her so he remained at the Abattoir, or compound, freshening up the building since Klaus was too much of a wuss to do so. Bonnie went back into the city to meet up with Kai.

He walked into the living room, to find Klaus admiring a painting on the wall that Marcel no doubt hanged. Klaus always had a fascination with art, one that Elijah could not understand.

Sensing his brother's arrival, Klaus turned around, approaching Elijah. "Isn't this fantastic? Two brothers, fighting alongside each other as one. Doesn't it just stir up the memories of the good old days?"

Elijah sank down into a plush chair, picking up a newspaper. "Don't be ridiculous, Niklaus, we've bonded plenty over the years. Partially with me cleaning up your insufferable messes."

Klaus chuckled, sitting in the chair mirroring him. He crossed his legs and grinned. "I suppose you've locked Marcel away in a place unpenetrable by the devil himself?"

"I doubt it'll be able to handle you but Marcel is taken care of for now," Elijah cleared his throat. "War has been brewing, I don't know how many times I must repeat this. We need more than a kingdom, we need armies, we need weapons, we need allies."

"Bonnie and Kai are all we need."

"No, they are inexperienced in this battleground. We need the werewolves, we need the humans."

Klaus snorted, caressing the oncoming beard that he planned to shave later. "The humans are nothing but livestock. They're no use."

"Yet, there is a human delegate that sits in on council meetings with Marcel. They must have some sort of power if Marcel is willing to negotiate with them."

"Fine, fine, we talk with our people. You track Davina, I'll find this human insubordinate and hopefully, our werewolf princess will rally up the werewolves for us," Klaus plotted.

"Your little werewolf princess clearly needs to lick some wounds," a snarl came from a feminine voice. "I literally had to tuck the girl into bed. I'll have you know that I do not appreciate being a babysitter."

Elijah straightened, eyes meeting Rebekah's for a brief moment before they wandered back to reading. "Evening, sister. It's a delight that you've decided to join the family again."

"You're a bloody arsehole. I spent the past couple of years in luxury, expenses, and you bring me back for this? What is the issue this time? You're too afraid to break up with the bitch yourself?"

"My, my, I forgot you have the mouth of a viking." Klaus waved to her, one eyebrow raised. "It appears quite the explanation is to be made, brother?"

Elijah made no move to elaborate, he only flipped the newspaper. Klaus shrugged to Rebekah, leaning forward to pick up a dusty book on the coffee table.

Rebekah scoffed, fuming now. "What is this, vampire book club? Will someone explain to me what is happening?"

"Klaus has impregnated a werewolf child," Elijah said casually. Klaus only licked his thumb and flipped to the next page of the book.

Rebekah blinked, face confused. "Uh, um—what? How is that even possible? Vampires cannot—"

"Procreate, yes we understand sister, we're not entirely halfwits," Klaus said, smirking. "But unfortunately, the rumors appear so. Loopholes are quite common in this era if you haven't predicted it yet. Although I assume you're too concerned about the latest fashion trend of the century."

Rebekah scoffed, "So that girl, the wolf I threw in the trunk, is pregnant with my little niece? I wouldn't have called her a bitch."

"You called Hayley a bitch?" Elijah lowered his paper. "I'm surprised you don't have an imprint of a slap on your face. She must be tired from the events of last night."
