"Hey BonBon." Kai grinned as she walked into the bar, her face holding a sheet of annoyance.

Bonnie adjusted the strap of her backpack, examining the empty Mystic Grill. "Enough with the jokes, Kai. I don't care what you have to say, just undo the spell you placed on Caroline and Tyler."

Kai examined his hands, deep in thought as he sighed. He leaned against one of the bar stools. "Ah, those two. I'm a little hurt, BonBon. I booked the whole place just for us, a date, and you can't even acknowledge it?"

Bonnie hissed, her eyes pinned on his brooding figure. "I swear, Kai, after all you've done, I--" She stopped mid-sentence as his green eyes shot to her swiftly.

"You will what? Hurt me and your friends will never live normally again. Lucky for you, I didn't do this out of the evilness of my heart, but only to get your attention." He chuckled.

"You're insane. You think that after all you've done, after killing Elena and condemning Damon to a human life, cursing Caroline from touching another vampire, murdering Enzo and making Tyler a blind werewolf, I will just forget it all and sit with you?" Bonnie scoffed, her eyes twitching at the amount of pain and anger he inflicted. "There was a point where I thought we were friends. On the island, searching for the cure, I thought we were actually building a stable friendship. But something happened, you snapped on me. And Kai, get this in well, I will never forgive you. Never."

Kai swallowed, the truth she spoke mirroring in her eyes. He took a beat to take it all in, straightening himself. He took a deep breath and shrugged. "Then I suppose I'll just go back to the bad guy you all know and love." He then added with a flick of the wrist. "Celabimus et quaeris." Bonnie flinched. Kai chuckled. "Don't be ridiculous, I would never hurt you. Why do you think you're alive?"

Bonnie swallowed and said slowly, "What did you do?"

Kai sighed and pulled out a seat for himself, later ringing a small bell. A man emerged from the back with an apron tied around his hips, holding platters of food. He set down the burgers and drinks, vanishing away. "Guess you'll never find out." He picked up a strand of fry and moaned heavily. "These are good. No wonder y'all are always here." He chuckled, covering his mouth as he swallowed.

Bonnie shuddered in fear, tensing a bit. She struggled to even respond, her eyes wavering. Bonnie blinked back the tears. There was no escaping Kai. He would always find the loophole they were searching for, always be 3 steps ahead of the game. Bonnie took slow steps and approached the table he sat at. She lowered herself onto the seat and stared at her crammed plate. She left it untouched.

"I knew you'd come around, BonBon." Kai smiled toothly, picking up his glass of water. "You are okay if I call you that, right? I know Damon used to call you that, but we both know it sounds better from me. How is Damon? Last I heard from him, he was running from...what's her name?"

"Rayna. Rayna Cruz," Bonnie said breathlessly. Rayna Cruz was the woman who made sure nobody escaped through nature's loopholes. No vampire was meant to return human, no witch was meant to become vampire as well. She was there to ensure that and Damon was a target.

"Well..." Kai pushed for her to elaborate, chewing on an onion ring. "Did he die? I'm pretty sure once she sniffs you, your days are numbered? I only know this because my aunties boyfriend got--"

"No, he didn't die from her. He's...Damon is..." Bonnie trailed off, finding interest on the chair behind Kai.

Kai glanced back, checking before looking at her. He then connected the dots, lowering his hands to the table. "You don't know where he is. He hasn't reached out."

Bonnie shook out of it, reaching for the glass of water. "Whatever. He's Damon."

"Exactly. He's Damon, he'll run at any sign of danger. After Elena, I'm not surprised that he became unhinged--"

"After you killed Elena," Bonnie outbursted, breaking the glass at her fingertips.

"Aw, come on, Bonnie. We were making real progress. To think it, that has been the longest since you haven't shown signs of trying to break my neck. Real progress, I say." Kai smiled, continuing to dig into his meal.

Bonnie pushed back from the table, growling. "This is pointless. Unless you plan to give me what I want, I am not staying here for any second longer. I would rather die of cholera than spend an afternoon with you."

Kai bolted from his seat, taking hold of Bonnie's neck. The grip wasn't harmful, only enclosed enough that she couldn't breathe properly. Bonnie chuckled. "Do it, Kai. Do it. What was that? You'd never hurt me? Another one of your empty promises. Another one of your delusional mind trying to support your craziness."

Kai pushed her back, Bonnie tumbling into the chairs. "I really do try, Bonnie. I've tried everything in the book. But you still hate me. What do you want me to do?"

"I want you to die," Bonnie yelled, recollecting herself from the floor. She repeated. "I want you to die, Kai. I don't want to have to look at your face, wondering if you're going to kill Matt next for entertainment. I don't want to have to fear making new friends because who knows, you might get jealous and kill them all! But most of all, I want to be the one to do it. Because I want to look in your eyes and see the fear and regret for causing me so much pain."

Kai recoiled back quickly, obviously taken aback by the confession. "You...Bonnie, you don't mean that."

Bonnie stood tall and stared him down. "I mean every single word."

Kai opened his mouth to respond but was cut off abruptly by the sharp jolt in his back. Two more shot through his spine and his vision blurred, Bonnie only in sight. Her gaze had risen to whoever was behind him and Kai wavered on his feet, grunting. He reached for one of the chairs to stabilize himself but he only fell to the floor quicker.

Bonnie was glad to see Ric, holding his crossbow firmly. "I hate it when he talks. It's like he loves to hear his voice." Bonnie watched Kai fall to the ground, out with one blink.
