The glass broke, wood shattering and things catching on fire. The crowd was screaming, pushing each other to leave. But Kai had swung his arms in one sweep, killing them all. Elena had disappeared, off into the night, and Bonnie assumed it was thanks to Damon and Stefan who were nowhere to be found as well. She pushed the twins behind her back, shielding them from the chaos.
Ric was completely oblivious to it all, kneeling at his fiancé's frozen body. Kai ignored them, playing around with the room like it was a toy set. Everything was ruined, gone up in moments of happiness. It was so horrid that tears pricked her eyes in horror.
"Bonnie," a man called and she turned around quickly, prepared to defend the little girls. But it was only Matt. "Bonnie, we need to get you and the girls out of here--"
"Didn't I tell you to get a job raise? I hate repeating myself," Kai mumbled from behind him and Matt's face was a sheet of terror. He brought his hands up once more. In moments, Matt's neck snapped, echoing off Bonnie's ears.
She started to tremble, the body falling at her feet. Silent tears fell down her face and she was inclined to close his eyes for respect but she remembered where the danger was. She held the girls behind her back, taking steps back. "Hominis occ--"
Kai clicked his tongue, taking all the steps Bonnie was taking backwards. "I wouldn't. I've linked the twinsies to me. Kill me, kill them. It's sort of cool, huh?" Bonnie backed up into a wall and she felt her world cave in, heart trembling for fear at the man who only approached. She tried to contain her tears, looking up to keep them in but they only kept falling. Kai reached her, caressing the tears away. "Shh, it's okay. I bet you wished you stayed on my good side, huh? You served as a good distraction but I'm back now."
Bonnie tried to shake his poisonous touch off but his thumb only drew across her lips. Bonnie spat in his face, whimpering with her tears now. Kai sighed, wiping it off.
"Just give me my nieces and I'll be off. I believe my work here is done?" He glanced around, disorder written in the room. "Such a beautiful wedding. I wished she had invited me. Maybe I wouldn't have been so pissed."
Bonnie closed her eyes, trying to teleport out the moment. "I should have killed you in your sleep, you monster."
"But you didn't. I appreciate that, I was really looking forward to Corn Flakes that morning," he giggled. Then the mood quickly wiped off his face. "Move, I don't have time, BonBon." She didn't move and he growled, reaching for her sides. Kai pushed her aside with force, expecting the two children to be standing there. They weren't. He swivelled to her, a show of anger on his face. "Where are they?"
Bonnie's tears were long gone now and she stood up straighter, getting all up in his face to taunt him. "You're never going to find them." It was a deadly whisper and Kai only grew angrier.
Out of instinct, he grabbed her head, smashing it against the wall. Bonnie let herself get hit, wanting to be as far away from him as possible even if it meant being dead. Kai hadn't even realized what he had done until she slid to the floor, a faint bruise already forming at the side of her head. "Bonnie?" His eyes widened as he crouched to her level, shaking her. "Bonnie, get up. BonBon." You could hear his voice break but when he checked her pulse, it was as if his heart started to beat again. He stepped back, staring at her state before turning.
I was bound to break her anyways, he thought.

Bonnie woke, her head pounding hard. She seemed to be in the Lockwood Estate, the sheets silk compared to the ones at home. The sun shone and she knew it was another day to fight the monsters Mystic Falls attracted. She was in pyjamas as she descended down the stairs, steps cold as ice.
She emerged in the living room, trying to get used to all the windows. Caroline sat there, along with Elena and Damon. "You're awake."
"I wish I wasn't." Bonnie shrugged, heading for the alcohol cabinet. She wasn't a fan but now...she downed the glass quickly, refilling it a second later.
When Bonnie turned, Caroline was there to hug her. "I am so sorry, you were right when you said he couldn't be trustworthy. He went to every measure to get what he wanted."
"And now..." Elena's voice trembled, her eyes glassy. "Jo is dead, the twins are missing and Ric...he's not even talking to anybody. I can't find Jeremy, Tyler told me he was heading back out and Matt isn't answering his phone. Everything is falling apart. Everything...everything all leads back to me. It's my fault."
"What?" Caroline asked.
"I hadn't been so selfish to want to see the wedding for myself, Ric would have pushed it further because we would be using Kai to separate my soul from the twins. The wedding would have still happened, Jo would still be alive, the girls would be tucked in bed. Instead, I insisted on it, I couldn't wait."
"It's not your fault, you just wanted everyone to be happy," Caroline assured, shaking her head.
"Matt's dead," Bonnie declared, filling up another cup of whiskey. The recent memory flooded her mind but she didn't flinch. Elena's eyes widened but Bonnie continued to be unfazed. "I know where the twins are, I used my magic to hide them so don't worry. And Ric will be fine, he'll get over it eventually. I mean I have." She shrugged, remembering the faint ache of losing Enzo and Elena within the same minute. Bonnie couldn't stand their silence so she walked out of the room, alcohol at her grasp as she decided to explore her new home.
Bonnie considered putting out an anti-everybody barrier around the estate. No humans, no werewolves, no sirens, no witches, no Heretics, no hybrids, no vampires, no originals, no ghosts. Just Bonnie Bennett and her whiskey.
