Bonnie stood there, waiting for him to speak. She waited for him to threaten her friends, to try and cast another spell, to laugh even. But Kai didn't do anything. He sat there and stared right back.

"You have nothing to say?" She asked, planting all her weight on her right leg.

Kai shrugged, looking up at the bright light above him and the TV close to him. "Sure. As much as I hate to say it, you've played me like a fiddle."

Bonnie took slow steps to him, stopping at only mere centimetres from him. She bent low, getting in his face. "How about you do me a favour, Kai. I want you to remember all those times you've hurt me and my friends. I want you to remember all the faces of hate and agony I gave you, I want you to remember how many times I've come so close to killing you. Because now..." She chuckled and Kai felt hypnotized by the sound. He watched her lips curve upwards, later licking his lips. "Now, I'm going to end it for good."

"Ooo. You're here to punish me." Kai clicked his tongue, bobbing his head slightly. "I'm sort of down. Although, I'd prefer it if you were on your knees--"

Bonnie lashed out, hand colliding hard on his face. His head snapped fast to the right, the thunder of a slap echoing in the room. "You disgust me." When his head turned back, she was shocked to see blood dripping down his lip.

Kai then chuckled. "You're stronger from when I last saw you."

"No. I'm just really angry," she snarled, raising her hand. "Contritionem cerebri," Kai grunted, trying to stifle the mental pain. "For what you did to me, I am going to make you feel the equality to my pain." She slowly started to shrinking her hand to a fist, Kai's grunts turning to slight whimpering. "I am going to make you feel all that you've done to me." Bonnie reached for his head, seeping her magic into the roots of his mind. "Contritionem cerebri."

"Bon--" Kai croaked, the twinge of ache seeping into the cracks of his mind. And before she knew it, Bonnie accidentally plunged too deep into his subconscious. She stopped her assault, eyes shut and the magic took her to another world.

Bonnie found herself in a small home that she remembered being in. Kai had brought her here for Thanksgiving in the prison world. She looked around in the small boy's room. It was a mess, clothes on the floor, books scattered everywhere. In front of the open ajar door was a small boy, the tinge of his hair oddly familiar. He seemed to be eavesdropping at the conversation below and Bonnie approached, listening in as well.

"He's a plague, Claire. Joey and Amaris came crying to me about the bruises he inflicted. He's a child who wants attention because he doesn't have any magic like the others," Joshua was saying.

"He's normal, Josh. That's why you hate him so much and Kai just...the kids tease him for his vulnerabilities, they provoke him," a woman, she assumed was Kai's mother, was saying.

"Have you not even considered what Adaline has warned us about? He's not normal, he's crippled. Yes, he does not have magic, but he can take it."

Claire scoffed, "You sound paranoid. Adaline loves her superstition and she only wants control over you. God, he is your son. How can you be afraid of your own son?"

"He is not my son. He's a dishonour to this family. The witches of our coven and other covens are speaking of us like we have a taint in our power. We can't let that happen. We need to get rid of him, Claire. I have everything ready, and instead of the merge, we can sacrifice him to--"

Mini Kai shut the door, staying still in the darkness. The feeling of self-hate drenched the room and before she knew it, silent cries filled the air. 7-year-old Kai sobbed on the floor, the only light from the cracks under the door seeping in. And then all of a sudden, it stopped like a broken record. Mini Kai wiped his tears and maneuvered through the darkness.

He pressed something and the tune of London Bridge Is Falling Down echoed in the room. Mini Kai tucked himself to sleep like his weeping never happened. Only, he didn't sleep. He tossed and turned but never fell asleep.

My mom used to sing it for me when it was bedtime instead of reading stories. Until one night, she forgot to sing it to me and I couldn't sleep.

Bonnie recalled what Kai had once told her and she watched in horror as he slipped out the bed, swinging the door open. He walked to the master bedroom, in his green teddy pyjamas. He placed his ear on the door and Bonnie could hear Claire humming to herself in the washroom. Mini Kai stepped back, making his way downstairs. When he reached the kitchen, he stopped when a girl, a couple of years younger than him, stood there.

"Dad said you can't be out of your room past bedtime. Just because he left for the night, doesn't mean you can break the rules," she said, holding a popsicle.

"You're out of your room too, Thea," Mini Kai said. "And you're not supposed to have that without mom's permission."

Thea stuck her tongue out, scoffing. "They'll never believe you anyway. They don't even like you. I'll tell dad when he comes back and he's going to hit you so hard, you won't be able to remember your name," she brushed past him, whispering as she went. "Cardimona--"

Mini Kai's hand jerked out, squeezing Thea's arm. It pulsated red and she whimpered as he siphoned off her. She couldn't even scream and Mini Kai shoved her to the ground with anger. "If you tell dad, I'll make sure it hurts even more next time," he threatened, letting go. He wasn't even aware of what he had done, he was that blinded by the anger and fear of his father.

Thea scrambled away, leaving her broken popsicle behind. He continued on his way, reaching for the toaster. Bonnie stepped over the melting sucker and followed him up the stairs. Mini Kai pushed through his parent's bedroom, walking into the bathroom. His mother, Claire, had dozed off in the tub. She was gorgeous, hair fair and yellow just like most of the family. Her features were soft and caring, and Bonnie knew that this was a face of a woman who would protect her unique child.

He approached the tub, hiding the toaster behind him. Mini Kai reached in, shaking the bubble-covered body of his mother. She jolted awake, shocked to see him. "Kai. You should be asleep in bed right now."

"You forgot to sing me to sleep," he pointed out, both hands sustaining the weight of the object behind him.

"Oh, that's right. I'm so sorry baby, I forgot. Your father and I had a disagreement and I wanted a relaxing bath to soothe me out," she explained, sitting up in the tub. "How about I sing you it right now before you go to bed?" He nodded, smiling. Claire opened her mouth, the tune of the lullaby swimming out her mouth. She settled in the tub again, smiling at her son. Her voice was beautiful, almost like a goddess sitting upon a rock and singing to the town. She was so focused on the song, she did not register it when Kai pulled the toaster out, dumping it in with a splash.

Claire stopped abruptly, screaming but there was no time for her to save herself. It was too late. She sat there, still in the tub like she had been before he came in. Kai peered in the tub. "Goodnight. Thanks for the song."

Later that night, I found out that she fell asleep in the bathtub. So immature. So...well. I dropped a toaster into the tub.
