Elena and Caroline had left a couple of hours ago, Caroline aiming to try and comfort and Elena on the hunt for Damon. Bonnie spent the rest of the day in bed, trying to fall asleep but something kept her from it. She spent a bit of time putting up a barrier around the property.

The night was restless, Bonnie tossing and turning in her bed. The sheets were wet, all from her sweating. She contemplated pulling an all-nighter and leaving the sleep alone but after one final attempt, she dozed off.

Throughout the night, her dreams morphed into the ones of a rainbow and storm at the same time. She was running down the streets of an unknown neighborhood. Her breath was ragged, panting heavily as she ran from whatever undetermined monster was behind her. And every time she felt her legs at the point of breakage, at the point of snapping, there was still fuel in the tank. It was as though her mind had an agenda of its own. Her legs were sore, her lungs burning. To top it off, an ache stung inside her heart, one that was vaguely familiar. It was one she didn't want to remember and as mentioned, her body has other plans. At that moment, Bonnie knew what she was running from. She was bolting from her feelings for Kai.

The immediate discomfort settled within her and she wanted to wake up from it all at once. But there seemed to be a veil above her, keeping her from doing so. She felt like she was drowning, gasping at the air her body demanded. But deep down, she wasn't sure if she wanted to fold to the demands, she didn't know if she deserved it for the betrayal it had done to her. So she choked underwater, the fight to save herself vanishing along with the hold she had on her empowerment.

Bonnie expected for the light around her to blink black but the moment was so rapid, she momentarily froze. When she looked up, his ivy eyes melted into her bronze ones and for one vulnerable moment, she felt the fire in her lungs flame even more although her run had come to a stop. He had saved her from the drowning of her mind and body, plunged his hand and pulled her out from the war she was sinking into.

Her panting slowed and her recollection of what he had done, all he had inflicted, all he had broken, came crushing back.

Kai's signature smirk greeted her, charming and poisonous at the same time. All of a sudden, she was aware of the burning grip he had on her arm and she threw herself back. "What--"

"Hey, BonBon." Kai raised his hand, prepared to touch her cheek but she flinched back, heart caving in.

"Get out," she rasped breathlessly, keeping her eyes everywhere but him. "Now."

"Don't be like tha--"

"Get out right now," she screamed and he took a deep breath, nodding to himself.

"Alright, I got it. You don't miss me as much as I missed you...but then again I said I would back off," he shrugged, clicking his tongue. "Anyways, I'm sure you're aware of what I want by now."

Bonnie bit her lip, taking a couple of steps back. "You are never getting the girls, never. You'd have to kill me and I'm afraid that's the only option."

"We're old friends, I won't kill you." With one hand behind his back, he pulled out a small white cup, the words Sorry engraved in black. Inside was a handful of chocolate candy. "I also forget to say sorry about what happened at the wedding. I didn't mean to put my hands on you like that, I was in the moment--" Bonnie shook her head, denying the whole situation. She turned around, prepared to start the run that had started this all. But mid-step, he was already there. He shoved the mug in her grasp. "Where is Little Liz and Joyous Josie, Bonnie? Trust me, I'm just trying to help."

She threw the mug to the ground, the mug shattering white. "You think that a couple of chocolate hearts and a coffee mug is gonna clear out what you did to me? Do you even realize it, Kai? You ruined everything and to top it off, you...you hit me."

"I didn't mean to--"

"So that makes it better? What, since you couldn't visit me, since I put up a barrier around the house I'm staying in, you've decided to break through my mind and torture me even further?"

Kai held his tongue, biting his lip. "Alright, BonBon. Point made, I'll go for flowers next time. Back on topic, you need to tell me where the twins are." Bonnie remained silent and he scoffed. "What do you think will happen when the pieces of Elena's corrupt soul start to fester even deeper in their minds? It won't become just nightmares, it'll progress further. It's a parasite and they're the host and you know how that ends."

"And I'm supposed to assume you have the best intentions now?" She was mocking him, rolling her eyes.

"I guess not. But those two are on a ticking clock. Not to mention, they still have the siphoned magic from the Gemini House. That triples the damage even more," he explained, glaring at the discarded chocolate.

"You have to promise me you won't--"

"I won't, obviously. I plan to spend more time with them."

Bonnie took deep breaths. "You already took from Ric...don't make them into you, Kai, or I swear..."

He reached for her hand and it was too quick for her to register. He squeezed her hand, bringing his lips to it before whispering. "I'll be a good boy."

She blinked, snatching her hand back. Bonnie then placed her hand on his shoulder, transferring information on where she had hidden the twin girls. "There you go, it's done."

Kai smiled, winking at her. "Thank you, BonBon. You never fail to please."

He started to pull away but Bonnie shocked herself when she said, "Take me with you."
