Brooklyn~

"Hey, are you busy?" Ryan asks me as he holds Carter in his arms. We are currently in Dallas finishing up this road trip. I sit at my desk going through some emails, "No, why? When did they get here?"

"Last night, just after us. I gotta go take a quick bp and Larisa isn't back yet. So can you watch him until I'm done or she comes down here?"

"Yeah, of course."

"Awesome. Thank you. You're the best," he says as he hands me Carter and I set him down in my lap. "His bag is right here." I nod and watch him jog out of the trainer's room.

Carter lays his head down on my chest as I continue to sort through emails and order stuff for the trainer's room back in Milwaukee. "Carter, do you want some snacks?" I ask him and he lifts his head and looks at me and smiles. I roll my chair over to his bag and find some snacks. I put some on the desk and start handing them to him as he stares ahead at my screen.

I see Christian through the window as he heads to my office. "Have you seen Brauny?"

"Yeah, he was in here like 10 minutes ago. He's taking bp right now. That's why I have him," I say bouncing Carter on my leg, "He should be back soon, I think."

"He just left Carter with you?"

I laugh, "Yeah, Larisa wasn't back yet to come get him and he needed to go do bp so he asked me to watch him for a few minutes," I say handing Carter the last of his snack.

"Where are the other two?" he asks me and I laugh at his reference to them. "Out on the field, I hope."

"You hope?"

"Yes. They should be able to handle themselves. I also think there's something going on between them, but I won't say anything."

"Why do you think that?" he asks me as I get up and reposition Carter onto my hip. I look through one of my bags for some treatment plans I printed out for one of the guys. "I don't know. The vibes they give off when they are near each other, sort of freak me out."

"What does that even mean?" he asks me and laughs. "Like, I don't know, just they're like oddly close now. Which good for them. It's just weird. They're all touchy and she puts her stuff in his office. I mean I don't mind that, I get my space back," I tell him sitting back down and grabbing a pen and underlining some important details.

I can tell he doesn't even know how to respond to that. "Let me see him," he tells me and I hand Carter to him as he continues to babble at us. I see the reflection of them on my laptop screen as Christian tickles Carter's belly and he laughs. God, they're so cute.

"Hey, I can take him now," Ryan says coming back from bp. I turn around and smile as Christian still holds Carter. "How was he?"

"An angel," I tell him as he grabs his bag. "Thanks again. Yeli, you gotta go do bp now. Andy's looking for you." Christian rolls his eyes and hands, Carter, back to Ryan, "It's no problem." Christian quickly kisses me as I need to get back to work and so does he. "Before I go, do you want to do dinner or just order in?"

"Let's just order in. We're already getting out of here pretty late," I tell him assuming we would be out of here by 9 or 10. He nods and heads out to the field.

The guys got their asses handed to them. I haven't seen them play this bad in a couple of months. 16-3, 2 of those runs coming from Christian since he pretty much had a decent game. He had two solo homers so I know he was going to be happier about those than about the outcome of the game. It's getting down to the point in which we can clinch a spot in the playoffs. We're only a couple of games back so we just need to win.
