Brooklyn~
"I'll get her. Lay back down," Christian says quietly as Alana woke up crying. I watch as he walks out of our room to the room next to ours to go get her. We put her playpen in there and left the door open so we could hear her.
"Shhh, you're okay," Christian says coming back into our room and cradling Alana. I reach over for my phone to check the time. 4:46, oh I guess she slept for most of the night. We put her down around 10:30 and then we went to bed around midnight. Not bad for an almost 3-month-old.
I watch as he bounces her around before he comes back and lays down next to me. She immediately calms down when he put her in between us. We probably shouldn't be doing this, but, if it keeps her happy and asleep. It'll have to do.
I put my arm around Alana and Christian puts his arm around me. It's like our own little family, right here.
I feel a tiny, little hand reaching for something but softly hitting my face. I hear Christian chuckle and I slowly open my eyes to find him watching Alana and me. I look down at Alana who happens to be very smiley right now. She immediately puts a smile on my face as I just watch her. She must've passed out after Christian put her between us.
"What time is it?" I ask him. "8:30."
"They should be back to get her around 10." He nods and starts to get up with Alana. Those two are like best friends and it warms my heart so much. He has so much love for her and so do I, but those two are like glue. "There's a bottle in the fridge."
I walk downstairs a few minutes after Christian did and watch as he held the bottle for her. "Do you want breakfast?"
"Yes please."
I hand him a plate with eggs, bacon, and two pieces of toast while I enjoyed a bagel. "Can I please see her before she has to leave?"
He laughs, "Fine," he sighs and hands me her. "And to think you were scared to hold her when we first saw her. Now, you two are inseparable."
"Something must've changed," he shrugs and watches her as I hold her with one arm and continue eating.
"How was she?" Maggie asks as I hand Alana off to her. "The best, we had like no problems at all. We both woke up around 4:45 to her crying. But, she settled down after Christian went and got her. I woke up around 8:30 to those two awake and waiting for me to get up. We gave her a bottle this morning and before she went down for the night. Also, Christian and her are inseparable now and I find it too adorable."
"He's over the 'I don't want to drop her' phase?"
"I guess," I say and we both laugh. "Well, thank you for taking her."
"I would ask how was it, but I don't necessarily want the details to it."
"I'll spare you those then," I laugh, "We just needed some time alone."
"No, I get it. If you guys need us to watch her again, we're more than happy to. I can always send your our schedule."
"That'd be awesome. I'm sure she had the best time with her favorite aunt and uncle. Thanks again."
"Of course, I'll text you later."
"Do you need any help?" Jordan asks as I restock some of the cabinets. I stood on one of the beds and turn to talk to him. "If you have the time it'd be great."
He starts to cut open boxes and hand me supplies that needed to be put in the higher cabinets above the bed. "So how long have you and Yelich been together? I feel like we don't know each other well and it's almost been a full year of us working together." Jordan asks out of curiosity, I hope. "It'll be two years in a few weeks."
