Brooklyn~

"Why don't you guys go out tonight after the game? I'm sure you haven't been able to since you've been back," Alecia suggests as I sit at the table doing some work while she stands over the stove. Christian went in for some private, early bp with Andy so that left us here. Plus, I didn't really want to go in just yet.

"I'm sure he wouldn't say no to that. Are you sure?"

"Yes, of course. I've seen how hard both of you are working and it looks like you need it. And I want to spend time with my only grandson."

"Okay, I'll ask him." I continue to go through my work and also feed Kayden as he watches me calmly.

"Hey, don't know if you're coming back home before I need to be there, but your mom suggested we go out tonight after the game? I told her I would check with you, doesn't matter to me if we do or not. I hope everything is going well! If you aren't coming home, I will see you there. Mom and Kayden are staying at the house for this one," I send Christian and close my laptop.

"How has he been doing?"

"Christian? or Kayden?"

"Christian. Before I got in he was telling me he wasn't feeling the best up at the plate."

"Oh, um, I see improvement game by game. It's not where he wants to be. But, it's way better than what it was a couple of weeks ago. We spent some time out hitting and I was just watching or tossing balls at him. But, I see the improvement, slow but steady. He's just very stubborn when it comes to stuff like this. He'll leave his problems at the field, but it's like once he's locked in on something like this, it's the only thing he wants to do."

"Yeah, I don't miss that stubbornness," she says and we both laugh. I pick Kayden up from his high chair and grab a cloth so I can wipe his face off, "Such a messy baby," I say but refocus back on Alecia, "But, yeah, he's getting there. I think we can all tell he's getting back to his normal self."

"I'm glad he is. I don't like seeing him down in the dumps about something he can't fix in a day."

"It's draining for both of us since I try to help but each time it's something different. But we always get past it, so I have no worries," I say smiling but continue, "But, I am going to give him a bath then start to get ready so I can head out."

"Okay, hun. I'll be down here."

I walk up the stairs with Kayden on my hip and head into one of the bathrooms that had a bathtub in it and start to run the water. I set him down on the floor while it fills and see Christian is Facetiming me. "Hi," I say propping up my phone so he can us both. I throw some toys into the water and carefully set Kayden down into the tub.

"Hey, when were you planning on getting here?" he asks me as he sits at his seat in the clubhouse.

I look over at my phone, "Well, I'm going to bathe him and then start to get ready. I'm hoping to leave within the next hour and a half. I assume you aren't coming back home?"

"No, we're gonna keep working on this. I'm feeling better up at the plate so something must be going the right way."

"I'm glad. Did you get my text?"

"Yeah, if you want to go out, we can. I think it'd be nice to go out after."

"I was hoping you were going to want to go out."

He smiles, "Sounds good. When you do get here, can you come out to the field?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"I'm thinking why I can't hit for shit right now has to do with my back. Something just doesn't feel right. I don't know if I slept wrong, or what. But, it kind of started today when I woke up. I'm not in pain, it just feels tight."
