"What are you working on?" Christian asks coming out of the bathroom after his shower. I take out one of my AirPods so I can hear him better. I'm currently listening to different music so we can put it in our reception playlist. On our invites we asked our guests who are deciding to come, to suggest a song for the reception. It's better for us because we don't necessarily have to have an actual DJ and then we can cater to everybody's music taste.
"As people start to RSVP, I have been listening to their music suggestions and making a playlist so I can hand that over to Maggie."
"Mom talk you out of the DJ too?"
I laugh, "Yeah. It makes more sense to just have Maggie do it. We don't have to listen to lame-ass songs if we don't want to. After I get most of the suggestions, then we can add our own and take out anything we don't like or want to be played."
"What do you have on there now?"
I scroll through the playlist, "There's a lot of country music. We got some late 90s, 2000s. Also, some of the newer music that's out right now."
He lays down next to me and continues to watch me as I go through all the songs that have been sent to me. I could have Maggie do this, but I want to do something for the wedding.
I fix my glasses as he puts his arm around me and leans over to watch what I'm doing. I mean it's not that intriguing but whatever.
"Let's watch something," he tells me and I switch over to Netflix and scoot down to lean into him more. "What do you want to watch?"
"Anything. Let's start watching Outer Banks. Ryan said it was good." Why is Ryan watching a show for teens?
"Okay," I say quietly and search up the TV show.
It's not even 30 minutes in and small, soft snores come from Christian's mouth. I look up at him and see he's passed out. Tonight's game wasn't bad, at all. We were able to keep things relatively close with the Cardinals. In the end, it was them outscoring us. They put up a fight, through every inning.
I try my best to not wake him up as I get up and plug in my laptop on the desk. I turn off the light and get back into the warm bed. I turn into him and wrap my arm around him. "I love you," I quietly say and start to drift off to sleep.
"Ryan, come here," I say loudly enough to get his attention. He jogs over to me, "Are you going to tell me to sit out?"
"What? No. I just had a question for you."
"Oh, well, anyways proceed."
"Are Larisa and the kids making their way down? I wanted to talk to Larisa about some of the dresses we've been looking at."
"Yeah. They are coming down for the Reds and Cubs series. What dresses? For the bridesmaids?"
"Yeah, for all of them and also Celine."
He smiles, "They should be in Cincinnati when we land tomorrow night. We have that off-day before we start the series so you guys could go over it then."
"I'll text her later." He nods and heads back over to where most of the guys were talking, throwing around, and just waiting for game time to close in.
"Hey, long time no see," I say bringing in Larisa for a hug through our hotel room. The guys had an early workout so we thought it'd be best to get this over with now.
Even though we're apart of the same team, I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks. Not only her but the kids as well. It's been more than a couple of weeks since we've seen them. "Hey, how are you? And I know, life's been crazy."
