Seven More Months

Christian~

I roll over onto my side to grab my phone from the nightstand. Ugh, 8:15 already. We got back late last night. Even though the flight from Chicago to Milwaukee is only about 45 minutes, if that, we got in really late. The game went into extras and we didn't board until about midnight. Then we didn't get home until 1:30. It wasn't necessarily an option to fly out in the morning. As soon as we both hit the bed, we were out.

I feel the bed shift and look over to see Brooklyn turning over, still passed out. She's wrapped in my sweatshirt, underneath our covers, and looks adorable. Her hand covering half of her face, her hair up in a bun, and the covers up to her neck.

I can't wait to marry her. She's gonna look incredible and I already know I'm gonna cry when I do see her. Seven more months, which will fly by, and she'll be my wife.

I rub my eyes before sitting up and swing my legs over the side and start to get up. I'll let her sleep. She's been working her ass off these past few days and needs her sleep.

Honestly, I don't know she handles work, and also figuring out our wedding. I want to help, but I feel so confined because of baseball. I also have no clue what I'm doing so probably best that I'm not doing the planning.

I quietly head downstairs and make breakfast for myself. I have a feeling she'll be out for a couple more hours. I turn on the TV and watch whatever's on.

I hear soft, quiet footsteps come down the stairs. I look over and watch as Brooklyn comes into the kitchen giving me a tired smile. It's almost 10:30 and she finally pulled herself out of bed. The hood on my hoodie is up and tied around her neck. She goes over and makes a cup of coffee before coming over and sitting by me on the couch.

"How'd you sleep?" I ask her as she puts her feet across my lap. "Like a baby. When did you get up?"

"Around 8:30. I was still tired, but I just got up anyway." She nods and sets down her mug on the coffee table and leans back into the other side of the couch. I take the chance to lift her feet and crawl onto her. "You still tired?" I whisper as she pulls me into her.

"Yeah. I figured I would get up because I could've kept sleeping if I wanted to. We need to leave by 3:30."

"Okay," I whisper into her, "Why can't we just lay here all day?"

"Because we have a job to do."

She sighs as I move my hands under her back as we just lay there. "How about we go get some lunch before we have to head to the park?"

She nods, "Okay. Our favorite place?"

"Yeah," I smile and kiss her.

Brooklyn~

I must've slept wrong last night or it was the plane seats because my back hurts like a bitch. Holy shit. I finish getting ready as we planned to go out for lunch. I let my hair down from the towel it was wrapped in and start to brush through it.

"Hey, you almost ready?" Christian asks me coming into our bathroom. "Yeah, I just gotta get my laptop into my bag." I flip my hair over and run my fingers through it. I come back up but wince at the pain in my back.

"What was that?"

I shake my head, "I slept wrong on the plane or in bed and messed up my back."

He looks worried as I walk out of the bathroom and out to our room to grab my laptop. I start to head out to the door, "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yeah, I'll get through the day."
