I Like This.

Brooklyn~

Small, light circles are drawn on my back as I start to wake up in the king-sized bed we got into early this morning here in Curaçao. We landed way too early and quickly made our way to what would be our home for the next week. I haven't even seen the beautiful water yet. I turn my head toward Christian, assuming he's waiting for me to wake up.

"Morning, or afternoon," he says and chuckles. "Morning. What time is it?"

"Noon. We slept for about 11 hours." I nod and roll over to sit up in the extremely comfortable bed.

I watch Christian stand up and walk over to my side of the bed. "I didn't have anything planned today since we got in so late, so if you wanted to keep sleeping, you can."

"Are you going to layout?" I ask him quietly as I'm still trying to wake up. "Yeah, I'm gonna try to get some sun."

I find the motivation to get up and find my suitcase. I swear we rolled them into our little home that sits near the water and immediately got into bed.

I have Christian tie the back of my top before he goes outside and sets up some chairs for us. I grab a granola bar from my bag since breakfast definitely wasn't happening now.

I open the few blinds and make my way out to the warm, blue skies. I put my sunglasses on my face and go over and sit by him in the two-person lounger. The sun beats down on us and makes the sea glisten.

"I like this," he tells me and pulls me closer to him.

"You like what?"

"This. You. Being married. It's like I finally feel complete."

A small smile forms on my face, "I like this, too. I can finally call you my husband."

"And, I can call you my wife." That small smile forms into a big smile as he said those last few words.

I've finally started to wake up and put my feet flat on this small piece of concrete that the chair sits on. I look back at him, "Do you want to go in the water?"

He nods and we both get up out of the seat and walk to the water. The soft, white sand between our toes leads us to the warmest, aqua-colored water I've ever seen. Small waves crash on our small private beach. I stand a few feet out from Christian and completely relax. It's so nice to finally have a break. I feel like the past year has just been going so fast that we haven't had much time to ourselves. I hear the water moving behind me when Christian comes over and wraps his arms around my waist. I lean somewhat back into him as he rests his chin on the top of my head.

"Better than The Maldives?" he asks me quietly.

"Not sure yet. I don't know if anything can top The Maldives."

"That's fair. Tomorrow we can go explore the city some more." He unwraps his arms and swims a couple of feet in front of me. I make my way over to him where he can still touch the ocean floor and cling onto him like he's some tree.

He puts his hands around the bottom of my butt to support me as I cling to him. "What else are we doing here?"

"We'll do dinner a few times and then we can do whatever we want. We can book something for a day or we can hang out here and soak up the sun."

Our skin needs this sun. We've both gotten pretty pale, especially me. "Okay, sounds fun."

It seems like he's about to set me down but actually just readjust how he was holding me. Now it's like I'm a bit taller than him since he's holding me higher. I run my hand through his ocean hair before moving my hands to the side of his face. He hasn't shaved since the wedding so his scruff was coming in and god damn did I love it.

I lean down and kiss him but he's quick to deepen this kiss but keeps us in place. I can feel him fumbling with the knot he did on my swim top. He slowly walks to the shore and to where we were laying before. He sets me down on the cushion and finally starts to untie the knot. About damn time.

Thank god our little home is a bit more secluded than the others, so we could do whatever the hell we wanted. I take a breath as he lays down next to me but pulls me on top of him.

I get up from our bed as I went back and took a nap after a couple of rounds. I noticed Christian sat on the couch on his phone with still just his swim trunks on. I turn the shower on since it's getting to be about dinnertime. My body is so sore, but I guess a couple of rounds will do that to you.

I quickly just wash my hair and body so we can head out for dinner because this girl is starving and hasn't had a real full meal since we were in LA. I wrap my hair in a small towel and myself in a bigger towel that laid on a small shelf near the shower.

I look at my reflection in the mirror and can already the color coming in. We were probably outside for two hours and yet I'm already seeing results. Yeah, I could get used to that. I walk over to my suitcase and find some two-piece set and my sandals before heading back out to where Christian was.

"I just gotta quickly change and we can head out," he tells me and kisses the side of my head before going to his suitcase. I sit where he was and scroll through social media as I wait for Christian to come back out.

"Okay, let's go," he says and grabs the key. I grab my camera and phone before I head out the door first. He interlaces our fingers as we make our way down the path and to the resort we are staying at. The path is lined by tiny lights which are motion-sensor.

"Do you want to go snorkeling tomorrow?"

"Yeah," I bite my bottom lip, "That'll be fun."

Our host leads us to the back of the restaurant and hands us some menus. They bring us some water and champagne before taking our order. "You still tired?"

"Yeah, but I think it's just cause we were outside for so long."

"Yeah, that's what it was," he smirks and nudge him with my foot.

"I'm sure that's some reason as to why I'm still tired. But, also jetlag always gets the best of me."

"That it does."

We both laugh and look out toward the sea. Still bluer than ever, just a bit darker. The sun starts to set in the distance as we continue to talk.

"Question?" I say.

"Shoot."

"You really texted Collin all of that?"

He laughs and looks down at his drink, "Yeah. I don't know I just kind of knew. I won't lie, there was definitely alcohol in my system, but yeah I texted him that. Then called him the next day and he was still in shock that this was real and I didn't just accidentally text him."

"I never knew that."

He smiles, "Maggie really sent you back over to me?"

I laugh, "Yeah, she put some sense back into me and I made my way back over there."

"Sounds like something she'd do."

We both laugh, "Oh yeah, definitely sounds like her."
