Brooklyn~

"Do you want to look over this before I go give Lo the bad news?" Sarah asks me as I stood next to Christian talking to him. Last night during the game, Counsell took Lo out because he was limping a bit and he was complaining about some pain in the back of his leg. So, he didn't play at all today because there was some swelling and tenderness. Sarah and I both concluded that he needed to be put on the IL so his leg can heal and he can keep playing.

I take the papers she handed me and I go over and sit on one of the empty beds to read them. This is the one thing I just don't like doing as 'Head Trainer,' making sure everything looks good and can be signed off on. I trust that Sarah and Jordan know what they're talking about so I feel like I shouldn't have to do it but I get why too. It's always helpful to have another set of eyes looking at what you're doing.

"Yeah, looks great. Last I knew he was still in the clubhouse but he knows that he should be in here soon. Can you send me a copy so I can file it when we get back to Milwaukee?"

I hand her back the few pages of paper and hop down from where I sat. "Yeah, should I go get him?"

"If you want. He's pretty tedious about this stuff so he'll be in, I know that. I doubt he'll be long," I tell her and the door opens to a limping Lo.

"Perfect timing," I say and he somewhat rolls his eyes. "It's bad news isn't it?"

Sarah and I both nod and he sighs and sits down on the bed next to Christian. She hands him the papers, "Damn, how long?" he says and looks at me.

"We have you on 10-day IL right now. If you're healed after that then great you can play. If you aren't we'll keep you off IL and just monitor how you're feeling. But, I highly doubt you'll be placed on IL after this one. It's a very low-grade strain, it's just a little more painful because you are older than when this happened last. I think you should be back to your normal self after these 10-days. In the meantime, you need to do some stretching and come in for therapy so we can get you healed."

"Sounds good. Thanks for everything. I'll be in tomorrow before the game to do some therapy with one of you."

We both nod, "Of course." At least he's in a good mood. When I think about it, I don't know if I've ever seen Lo in a bad mood. He's the happy-go-lucky out of all of them and always has a smile on his face.

I walk back into the office and start to pack my bag so we can head back to the hotel. It's been a long night. The guys won, it's the game that went by so slowly. Both teams took forever to score so it wasn't 'fun' to watch until the 7th when Jacob, Christian, and Keston all got on base and scored. Jacob hit a double, Christian hit a double, then Keston went deep with an opposite-side homer. Christian's swing and stance have been getting better and back to normal so he was getting on base more which made him happy.

"Do you want to go out and eat after we get back?" Christian asks me as I walk out of the office. "Yeah, let's do it."

"Where are we going?" I ask as I change into some different clothes. "There's this really cool waterfront restaurant that has amazing food. Every time we come back here I always try to get food cause it's just that good."

"Sounds good." I slide on my sandals and grab my phone and our hotel key. I quickly fix my hair in the bathroom mirror. Christian comes and stands in the doorway, "You look beautiful." I smile and turn off the light. I wrap my arms around his neck and he leans down to kiss me.

We walk out of the hotel room and Christian wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me into him. We stand at the elevator doors waiting for them to open. When they do Ryan comes out with a bag of food in one hand and his phone in the other. "Oh, hey! Where are you guys going?"

"Dinner and then we're coming back here," Christian says and I nod.

"Well have fun." We both smile and head into the elevator.

"I'm glad we can go out into Miami this time. Last year we didn't have the time," I say and lace our fingers together. "Me too, I can finally show you around. I love this city and I think you would too."

"I love that it's much warmer than Milwaukee," he laughs as we exit the elevator and head towards the lobby to get in our Uber, "You're not wrong," he says and opens the car door.

My phone buzzes in my back pocket and I sit up to get it and see Maggie has texted me tons of photos. Many of them being of Alana, but also a lot for the wedding. I smile at my screen at everything she's sending me. I swear she's more excited than I am. I keep swiping through them when I land on the cutest photo of Alana in a 'My auntie's the coolest' onesie on. I show Christian my phone and he smiles, "She's getting big. That's crazy."

"I know, I need to go see them once we get back," I tell him and keep going through pictures. She's Will's twin, there's no comparison. The only thing she got from Maggie was her hair and that's it. Everything else is all Will. "Maggie keep sending you wedding stuff?"

I look over at him, "Yeah if she's not sleeping or keeping up with Alana, my phone is getting blown up with dresses, decorations, and flowers constantly."

"She has nothing better to do does she?"

"Nope, she's still off for the next couple of weeks and she's gotten used to life with a baby so she has that down and now has some free time to constantly blow my phone up."

"Wow, that was really good," I say as I finish my last bite of the amazing chicken alfredo I had. He laughs, "See, I told you it was the best." I drink the glass of water that was given to both of us to wash it all down. We continue to talk for the next twenty minutes before deciding we should leave because it's getting a little late for us to be out.

"We are coming here every time we come back. I get why you come back to get food from here while we're here."

"You have some very good thinking," he says as we walk down the sidewalk to find our Uber. "How's everything coming along with planning?"

"Pretty good. I think the big thing right now is the dress for me and the dresses for the girls. You guys just need to find the same color navy blue suit and we'll be just fine there. Like I said before we left, the invitations are being sent to us so we need to go through the guest list to just be sure."

"Okay, sounds good." Our Uber pulls up and we get in. He reaches over and places his hand on my thigh. I always loved when he did that. I feel like it's more because he always wants to be close to me and have physical contact with me. It's so comforting and always calmed me down if I was anxious or just not feeling myself. It was like a safety net and I knew that I was going to be just fine.

We get back to our hotel room and make our way to the bed. "You okay with this?"

"Yeah, this is more than okay." He smiles and leans down and kisses me as his hands start to lift my shirt. My breathing picks up as he makes his way down my body leaving soft kisses. As he makes his way down my core begins to tighten as his thumbs rub against my prominent hip bone. I run my fingers through his hair before I quickly discard my shirt to the floor. He stands back up and quickly takes off his shirt as I unbutton my pants.

He leans back down over me and smiles at me. He slips his hand between us to get my jeans down. I subconsciously help all while kissing him and try to get my pants down. We haven't done a single thing since the miscarriage and I extremely appreciate his patience with me.

He breaks away from me, "You are so, so beautiful," he says almost breathless, "If you need to take a moment, just tell me."

"Christian, I'm perfectly fine. I promise. I wouldn't have given you the 'okay' if I wasn't fine," I tell him quietly and he kisses me once more. "Okay."
