I Mean I Could.

Brooklyn~

Christian and I quietly get all of our shit down to the living room so we can all head out soon. We're trying to let Kayden sleep as long as possible before we have to get going. It's still pretty early for him and us, but we gotta do what we gotta do. "I'm going to get this in the car and let the car heat up," Christian tells me still obviously tired with the raspiness in his voice.

"Okay. I'm gonna make his bottle and get him up so we can leave."

"Did you want to stop for coffee on the way?"

"If we have time, yeah." I start to shake up his bottle as I walk back upstairs and into his room. We just moved him into his room when we got back to Milwaukee and honestly, it's been a blessing. Having that separation again has been so nice. I reach over the railing and pick him up carefully trying not to wake him up, but that doesn't happen. "I know, I know. You're okay. We gotta go on a little trip though."

He starts to calm down as I bounce him around and I give him his bottle, "Your daddy is probably waiting for us." I walk back downstairs and see all of our stuff is nowhere to be seen. He moves way faster than I do in the morning. He's probably already in the car. I grab my phone and one of Kayden's pacifiers that were laying around on the island before shutting off the lights and heading out to the car.

I get Kayden buckled into his car seat and prop up his bottle so he can somewhat hold it. He's really advanced in a sense of his motor skills have developed so quickly. Us and his doctor all think he could be walking within the next few months, which is crazy to think about. He's started holding his bottle and grabbing onto toys more and more. "You're okay, honey."

"How'd he do?" Christian asks me as I get settled into the front seat with him.

"Like any other person who doesn't have a choice to get up at 5:45 in the morning. He'll pass out on the flight."

"Well, better than I expected. I at least expected a meltdown."

"I mean I bounced him around for a few minutes before he calmed down enough."

I go through my notifications that popped up through the night and clear them away as Christian pulls into our favorite coffee place. Thank god we had time for coffee. I would have been a hot mess if I didn't get something that would give me some energy.

I hold Kayden in my lap as we start to land at the Pittsburgh International Airport and get ready to deboard the plane and head to the hotel to get somewhat settled in and then off to the park for a workout. Just as I thought, he passed out on the plane and more on me which sort of restricted me from doing any work.

"Babe, we're here," I say and nudge Christian as his head laid on my shoulders. My boys always find the most comfortable spot on me. He stretches out and leans over and kisses me and Kayden. "Did he sleep the entire time?"

"Yeah, just laid right on me. I was planning on doing some work, but he made that a little bit impossible. But I slept too, so it's not like I was just up, staring at the back of the seat."

Kayden stretches out and looks over to Christian. Kayden reaches over for him and Christian takes him from me. "Hi, bud." I fix the back of Kayden's hair that's starting to curl even more than it was a couple of months ago. He's getting so big and looking so much more like Christian.

We wait as most of the team gets off since we have so much shit now. It was fine with just us and our bags but now we bring a car seat with us for Kayden so we can rock him to sleep if we need to. Christian stands up and I grab our bags and the car seat. I get everything under the bus compartments and I quickly make my way onto the bus, next to Christian. Kayden has been becoming so social with the rest of the team and it's so cute to see all of them interacting with him.
