Brooklyn~

I sat at the very small desk waiting for Christian to come and wait for me while I finish up. I love that he always did that. It's just comforting that he sees that I care about my job just as much as he cares about his. Jordan and Sarah are finishing up out in the main area while I was doing paperwork and going over any injury reports.

"We're gonna head out to the bus. Everything is cleaned up and put away," Sarah says coming into my office. "Awesome, thank you."

"Hey, some of the guys are thinking about going out if you wanted to go. They said we need it after that loss," Christian says coming into the office and standing next to me. He's not wrong, that was a tough loss. Almost heartbreaking.

We had been tied for the majority of the game until the 9th when the Reds scored and pushed them over by one. Once we were up to bat it was Orlando, Lo, and then Christian. I think we all figured that Christian would come in clutch and hit a home run if the other two struck out or even did get on base.

That was not the case though. Three consecutive strikeouts and the game was done. It sort of felt like every Brewer fan was on their feet hoping that someone would come in clutch and score another run to tie us yet again.

"Sure, why not." He pulls me up and into him and he wraps his arms around my neck. We stand there for a few minutes just debriefing silently after the game. "We should probably get out to the bus so they don't leave us," he says quietly into the top of my head.

"I don't think they can leave the MVP here overnight."

"I don't know who this MVP is because he sure wasn't here tonight."

I roll my eyes at his comment, "Oh, come on. It was one at-bat."

"Yeah, one at-bat where they needed me."

I sigh, "It's one game. Don't let it get into your head."

"I won't," he says grabbing my hand as we start walking down the very quiet hallway that leads us to the bus.

I look around the bus and see most of them are pretty bummed. I get it, it was a close game and we probably should've won, but we didn't. There are more games down the road. The whole team looks like they need a drink.

I sit down after Christian sits by the window. I see Ryan board the bus as he sits down in the row next to us. "You guys going out with some of us? Larisa's going," he says and pulls out his phone. "Yeah, we're gonna go with. What about the kids?"

"Oh, Erin and Jonie aren't going so they were gonna take them until we get back."

There's a knock at our door as I slip on my short boots. Christian walks over and gets it, "Hey, you guys ready?" Ryan says coming into our room with Larisa behind him.

They all look over at me as I slide on my other shoe and stand up, "Yeah, I just need to grab my phone."

I quickly grab my phone from the charger and make my way toward the door where Ryan and Larisa stood. Christian waited until we were all out and closed the door behind him. "Do you know where we're going?" Christian asks them. We haven't been told anything except to meet down by the side door at 7.

"All I know it's not far. Like a couple of blocks. I think it's just some random-ass bar that has a really cool rooftop. I don't know for sure. Lo and Kolten were planning it after we got done."

Christian guides me through the oddly packed bar, it's a Tuesday night with not much going on in Cincinnati other than the game. One of his hands rests on the small of my back, the other lightly intertwined with my fingers. One of them must've called and told them a big group was coming in because there's a huge, open space for all of us. I didn't even realize this many people were coming until we got down to the side door where we would go out.
