I Wouldn't Mind.

Brooklyn~

I lay my head back onto Christian's shoulder and pull the sheets up around me. "I don't ever want to leave," he says quietly and somewhat out of breath.

He runs his fingers up and down my arm, "Ugh, let's not think about that." He laughs and pulls me closer to him. I rest my hand on his chest as we look out at the floor-to-ceiling window that sits in front of us.

We leave early tomorrow morning and neither of us is excited to be leaving. The good thing, baseball starts up again in two weeks so that's something to look forward to. While our time here has been special and memorable, I'm excited to get back to work, and I think he is too.

"You want to go get in the water one last time?"

I sit up and move toward the edge of the bed, "We gotta make the most of our time somehow."

He sneaks in a smirk and gets up to find his shorts. Christian tosses me some bathing suit top that was in my suitcase. "I only get a top?"

"Whoops," he laughs and tosses me a pair of bottoms, "but I wouldn't mind."

"I know you wouldn't mind," I say as I slip the bandeau top on me and give him a cheeky grin.

He comes over by me as I slip on the bottoms, "I ever tell you you're beautiful?"

"Every day."

"Just have to make sure you knew that."

I watch us both walk past the mirror and notice our tan lines. Curaçao has been good to us and our skin. I would come back any day. Christian pulls me behind him with our fingers lightly interlaced. We make our way out to the water and stand there enjoying the warmth. The sun, here, in Curaçao, is something else. I feel like even when it's setting, it's still the same warmth as when it's the middle of the day.

I swim out a few feet farther from where Christian was standing to really just take it in one last time. I dip my head underwater and come back up, smoothing out my hair. I tip my head back as Christian comes over by me.

"This was amazing. Thank you," I say as we become more eye-level with each other.

"It was for us. We both more than needed this. You worked your ass off to pull off a wedding in only a year, while also doing your job." I smile and move closer to kiss him.

"You made it a whole hell of a lot easier though." He shows me the super contagious smile that I absolutely love and adore before wrapping his arms around my waist and holding me close to him.

Christian and I walk hand-in-hand through LAX as we just got off our flight from Miami. Both of our hoods up and heads down as we walk through the terminal. We both just want to get home and don't really have the patience to be stopped. We both knocked out our flights and I think that's all we wanted to do now. We find our luggage and wait outside of the baggage claim for Alecia to come and pick us up. She is an absolute saint for doing this, it's almost 11 and she's coming to pick us up and drop us back off in Malibu.

I lean against Christian's chest as we wait for her. "I know. She's almost here, a few more minutes," he tells me rubbing my back. I just keep listening to the music that played through my AirPods as we wait for her to get here. My hand falls from my suitcase handle as I get even more drowsy than I already am.

"Oh, there she is," he says quietly and kisses the top of my head. I watch as Alecia pulls up and comes around to the back of the car and greets us. "Hey, how was it?"

"Great. Very warm," Christian tells her and I silently agree. "Good, I'm glad."

We all get into her car and I lean my head on the window and watch the city of Los Angeles pass by at night. Christian sat upfront with his mom as they talked quietly. He reaches behind him and lightly touches my leg. He always wants to be close.
