I have been cleaning around the house for the past few hours while Christian and Kayden are out getting stuff for our New Year's Eve get-together with the Braun's, Will, and Maggie. Just something small, with no kids, bringing in the New Year. Kayden's getting dropped out at Alecia's before our get-together starts. Will has family in Santa Clarita that they've been staying with so Alana will be there. The Braun's kids will be with Ryan's parents so we're all good and can have a good night with our closest friends, something we all needed now that we're all parents.

I turn the outside string lights on before setting up the table and brushing off the sand as best as I could. I glance up and can see some really good progress on the new house. Almost the entire house is framed and the pool and hot tub have been put in, just needs to be filled but that won't be until we can move in.

"Mama, Mama!" Kayden says running outside to me and stands on one of the chairs to be more level with me. He's a fast learner with the whole walking concept. He's started climbing onto chairs, the couches and that makes me nervous. "Hi, bud. Did you go out with daddy?"

He nods, "Yeah!"

"Are you going over to grandma's tonight?"

"YEAH!" He's so excited to spend the night with Alecia and I think it's the cutest thing ever. I pick him up and he lays his head on my shoulder. Oh my gosh, I love him. I walk back inside and see Christian putting away the food and drinks he went and got.

"So the place we want to get food from doesn't open for a couple of more hours and they're not doing delivery tonight. So we can either order later and someone can go pick it up or get something else. Doesn't matter to me," Christian tells me setting out the snacks.

"Well, I don't care either. I can check with others to see what they think."

"Okay let me know what they say."

"I will. Did he sleep?"

"No, not really."

"I'm gonna try to get him to go down right now."

"Is there anything that needs to be done?"

"Um, no I don't think so. Maggie just texted me and said they're leaving now since it's already an hour from where they're staying. So they should be here within at least an hour."

"Babe? Where are you?" Christian asks me as he walks upstairs. "Closet," I yell out the doorway.

"I'm going to take him over to mom's now. Did anybody get back to you?"

"None of them care either so we can just eat a little later than expected."

"Okay. I'm pretty sure Maggie and Will just got here, too."

"Okay, I'm almost done."

"You look beautiful."

"Thank you." I stand up and kiss Kayden quick and then stand up on my toes to kiss Christian. Kayden starts giggling as we break apart. "I love you, Kayden."

Christian walks out with Kayden and down the stairs as I finish getting ready. I find my heels deep in our closet and put those on quickly. I stand up and get dizzy immediately. What the hell? I'll be so pissed if I'm getting sick. I'll just try to ignore this. Maybe I just stood up to fast and I'm perfectly fine.

I walk downstairs and see Maggie and Will sitting in our kitchen, "Hey, how was the drive?"

"We hit a little bit of traffic on the 405 but that's about it," Maggie says as I go up and hug her. "That's good. Well, drinks are in the fridge and snacks are over on the table. Ryan and Larisa should be here soon."
