Brooklyn ~
It's been a few days after hanging out with Christian and he has this weird way of just getting to me. Like, he just makes me feel so good. He's extremely nice and so thoughtful. I didn't expect this at all. He's just a good guy.
We get done with our game, the boys securing another win before we leave for almost two weeks. We were off to Seattle, San Francisco, and Houston to play a few series.
I was walking out to my car when I hear my name getting called from behind me, "Brooklyn, wait up." I turn to see Christian jogging up to me.
"Nice game," I smile as we start walking toward our vehicles.
"Thanks. You ready for your first away series?"
I laugh, "Ready as I'll ever be. I'm not too worried about it."
We approach our cars and throw our bags into each of them. I shut my back door and open my front. "Hey, do you just want to carpool tomorrow morning? I can pick you up, that way we wouldn't have to bring two cars," Christian says as he walks over to my door.
"Uh, sure, why not," I smile at him.
"Okay, so I'll be at your place at 5:00 am sharp."
I internally groan at the time. "Okay, I'll be up."
"Goodnight, Christian."
"Night, Brooklyn."
3:45 am wake-up calls are not my favorite. I get out of bed and head to my shower so I can wake up some more and look somewhat presentable for 5 am. The hot water that hits my skin is about to put me back to sleep at this point.
I get out and check my luggage and work backpack/carry-on before moving all of it to my living room. I look at my stove and see it's 4:30. I finish getting ready and throw some leggings and a t-shirt on. I struggle to put my contacts in and resort to wearing my glasses instead.
I hear a quiet knock on my door and realize it's already 5 and Christian must be here. I look through the peephole and see the brown-eyed athlete at my doorstep. I open the door and move out of the way, "Morning," I say a little less enthusiastically.
"I'm going to assume, you don't do mornings either?"
I laugh at his assumption, "Yeah, they aren't my favorite when it's this early."
He laughs and I can tell he takes in my appearance. I turn around grabbing a light jacket and my bags. "I'm ready," I say as I grab my keys and we head out the door.
"Here, let me take that," he says grabbing my suitcase and putting it into his car next to his. I smile at his chivalry and head to the passenger door.
"How are the flights?" I ask him and he starts to make his way to Miller Park.
"I mean, they're pretty standard flights. We all kind of just relax and zone in. Flights aren't too bad, the long road trips are. Can I ask why?"
"Oh, no reason. I've traveled and all but I guess just not this frequent. I just wanted to know what it's like."
We arrive at Miller Park and just like me, it seems that everyone is so excited to be up at 5:30. All of us just kind of look dead. Clearly, we aren't morning people.
We make our way to General Mitchell Airport and go straight to the tarmac to take off. I take my seat and quickly find myself dozing off.
The guys didn't win tonight so everyone was a bit down and wanted to get to the hotel more than ever. We boarded the buses and went on with the night. I finally got back to my room and lie out on my bed. I decided I should wash my face and get ready to go to sleep. I hear my phone from my bed, ding, signaling a text.
Christian: What room are you in?
Me: 325. Why?
Christian: Open the door that splits the two rooms
I furrow my brow but go to the door and unlock it before opening it. I see Christian standing there with some type of food and a big smile on his face. "Didn't know we were hanging out right now," I say with a smile letting him in.
"Well, now you do."
I stare at him as he walks over to the bed. I think I'm starting to fall for this boy and I'm falling hard. "You okay?" I hear as I temporarily zone out.
"Oh, yeah. Just tired. We've had a long day traveling and also playing a game."
"You'll get used to it. It becomes your normal after a while."
I smile at him and walk over to where he was sitting. "So, what'd you bring?"
He chuckles, "Chipotle, my favorite. I got you some because you are trying what I normally get."
"How do you know if I'm going to like it?" I smirk at him.
"You will. I have excellent taste."
I sit down on the other side and turn the TV on. Thankfully it had Netflix so I could log in to use it. "Well, if I'm eating what you like. You are going to watch Criminal Minds with me," I raise my eyebrows at him and smirk.
"Deal."
"That was honestly really good. You're going to have to write that down for me," I laugh as I get up and go over to him and grab his bowl to throw away.
"I'll make sure to do that."
I can tell he's getting tired, but I don't want him to leave. I just don't want to cross any boundaries. I don't even know what we are. Are we friends? More than friends? I have no idea and I'm way too scared to say anything.
"I think I'm gonna head to bed," he says getting up and stretching.
"Yeah, me too. We got an early day tomorrow." I sigh as I get up and go over to him. He gives me a hug and I latch on and hope to stay there forever. He smelled so good that I could bury myself in his chest and fall asleep there.
"If you need anything, you know where I'm at," I smile as he walks through his door to his room. He nods and we say our goodnight.
I head to the shower and rinse off and quickly head to bed. That boy has done something to me and I'm enjoying it. I start to fall asleep when I hear a knock at the door in my room. I question it before I get up and head over to the door.
"Hey, uh, do you care if I sleep in here? The A/C is broken and I can only sleep when it's cold in the room." I slightly laugh and nod my head.
We get in and I think we can both tell nobody wants to cross any boundaries but we also want to be close to each other. I lay on my side and can feel the bed shift and the weight start to get closer. I become very drowsy and start to fall asleep when I feel a hand on my waist.
I ignore it and we fall asleep together, touching, and being close; just how we wanted, at least how I wanted.
