Brooklyn ~
"Maggie, can you get me another drink? I'm heading to the bathroom, I'll be back in a few," I shout to my best friend before going to the back of the bar. I can still hear and feel the music pulsating through the bathroom walls. Songs that bring me back to my college days. I finish up in the bathroom and head out to retrieve my drink from Maggie.
I find her at the bar with our drinks and her boyfriend, Will. "Brooklyn, let's go dance! We need to find you a man out there," she said all while dragging me out onto the dance floor.
I scoff at the thought of us actually finding a guy out there for me. I laugh as our favorite song comes on and we start singing at the top of our lungs. "Cause I'll be, switching them positions for you. Cooking in the kitchen and I'm in the bedroom. I'm in the Olympics way I'm jumping through hoops. Know my love infinite nothing I wouldn't do, that I won't do, switching for you." We move as if we don't care. Hips swaying back and forth and enjoying the night.
I finish my drink and head back to the bar and get one more before I call it a night. As I order my drink, a tall, brown-haired, nicely built body stands next to me waiting to order his drink as well. I glance up at him and see who it is. "Holy shit," I whispered underneath my breath hoping he doesn't hear me. Keep your cool, Brooklyn, keep your cool.
The man I recognized, well is going to get recognized in the city of Milwaukee. The one and only Christian Yelich is standing right beside me and let's just say I'm sort of freaking out.
I get my drink and am about to turn away to head back to Maggie and Will but he lowers his head down to my ear and respectfully says, "I noticed you when I got here. You're beautiful."
I turn my head to look at him, "Thank you," I tell him before heading back over to Maggie.
"Brooklyn, who the hell was that?"
"Um, I'm pretty sure that was Christian Yelich and he said I looked very beautiful and well I might be freaking out internally," I said as my voice shook out.
"Wait like Christian Yelich, the Milwaukee Brewer's outfielder and MVP, Christian Yelich?"
"Well, how many Christian Yelich's do you know?" I sass back at her.
"Girl, you need to go back there and talk to him. This could be good. Don't act like you don't find him attractive. Plus, he could've talked to any other girl in this bar, and yet he chose you to spark up a conversation with."
I knew she was right but who knows if he's even still there. I contemplate this in my head and I give her a reassuring nod. Well, I guess there's only one way to find out. I head back toward the bar and quickly spot the tall athlete still at the bar, sipping on what looks like whiskey.
I sit down a few seats away from him, not wanting to seem eager to talk to him. He takes notice and gets my attention as I've seen he's moved closer to me. I turn to him and quickly greet myself. He smiles at the gesture and asks, "Either you're being way too generous, or you don't know who I am."
I slightly laugh and look up at him. "I know who you are, I was actually at the game tonight, but after you said something to me, I decided I could at least treat you like an actual human instead of this amazing baseball player."
"I appreciate it. Where were you sitting? I feel like I should've remembered you seeing how beautiful you are."
I try extremely hard to not blush, but I can feel my cheeks heating up. "Oh, my friends and I were on the third baseline. By the way, nice homer," I slightly wink and smile toward him.
Soon after we were interrupted by Maggie and Will on their way out. We both drove so we could leave whenever we wanted. "Maggie, please text me when you both get home."
"Yeah, yeah Brooklyn. I will," she rolls her eyes and smirks toward me giving me a look of 'you got this'.
"You care for your friends, I like it. Shows you love them."
"Well, you never know what can happen and I know she isn't going to be driving home and he only had a couple of drinks," I said, blatantly. I look down at my phone and realize it's almost 1 in the morning. He takes notice as well and asks, "We should get going, it's late and I have a game tomorrow at 3."
I laugh, "Yeah, I got work tomorrow. First day!"
"Well, congrats on your first day. Hope it goes well."
We walk out and walk toward our cars. Somehow he ended up parking right next to me. As I was about to get into my car I hear him start to ask me a question. "Hey, uh, I know we just met and all but could I uh, get your number?"
I laugh, "Why not?"
I go meet him at his door and give him my phone so we can trade numbers. "Hey, uh, text me when you get home. Can't let Milwaukee's favorite athlete end up somewhere he isn't supposed to be," I wink at him.
"Of course, I'll text you when I get home."
"Great, thanks. Uh, see you around sometime?"
"Yes, of course."
"Well, goodnight, Christian"
"Goodnight, Brooklyn"
I get in my car and watch as he drives away in his car. I check my phone for any updates from Maggie or Will and see that she texted me. Holy shit, how is this happening to me? I met Chrisitan Yelich and we switched numbers. Wait until he sees I'll be at his game tomorrow, although not like I was today. Completely different if you ask me. He won't believe it.
