I Have To Do This Now?

Brooklyn~

I roll over on my side trying to go back to sleep but it's not that easy anymore. It's not like I can go anywhere either. We're currently in Cincinnati wrapping up this road trip. I look over at the other bed and notice Kayden sleeping ever so peacefully. Only if I could do the same. I then look toward the couch and that spot looks comfier than the bed right now. This is so not it. I love being pregnant, I do. But if I could just fall asleep and stay asleep, that would be great.

Christian starts moving around and I feel his hand reach over for me. "What are you doing?" he asks me quietly.

"Trying to get comfortable. I might go sleep on the couch."

"You have a perfectly comfy bed."

I shrug and lay my head back down on the pillow, "You can go back to sleep. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, you need your sleep."

"So do you." I don't say anything and just try to go back to sleep. He settles back into me and holds his hand right on my 28-week belly. I feel like it's always around this point where I have this feeling of just giving up. I'm so tired all the time and have no want to keep going because I'm so exhausted. It's really a mental battle rather than a physical battle at this point.

I walk through the tunnels and to the very small trainers room and set my bags down in the chair. I didn't get much sleep last night after I tried going back to sleep. I sit down on one of the beds trying to enjoy this peace and quiet. I can feel a headache coming on so this calmness is extremely relaxing.

"You okay?" Sarah asks me as she stood in front of me.

"Didn't sleep well and have a headache. Also pretty sure we're about to get our asses kicked."

"Last night's game doesn't translate to today's."

"Sarah, we almost got no-hit. We didn't score any runs, had way too many errors. Plus the calls were awful against us."

"Way to look at the dark side. Do you want to go out there?"

"Yeah, that's fine. See this is why you will be in charge while I'm gone. You are the level-headed one while we work."

"If you're not going to be level-headed, someone has to do it."

I get down from the bed and slowly make my way out to the field with my bag that holds just about everything. This headache has got to go if I want to make it through this game. As I approach the field I notice how everyone is doing something. The game last night probably taunt them that. 9 innings of waiting for a hit until we finally got one right at the last minute and saved our asses from being no-hit.

Another long night, not because we suck, but because there is absolutely no energy in this stadium. Granted, we are on the road so I don't expect many Brewers fans to be here, but even the Reds fans have been pretty quiet tonight. It's just so weird not being in a stadium where fans are cheering loudly.

I stand up from my spot and move to where I can see the guys more. One of their hitters sends the ball deep into left field but Christian is running toward the wall to hopefully make the catch. Please don't hurt yourself. I watch as he makes the catch but slams right in the padded wall. He falls straight down and from what I can tell, hits his head pretty hard on the warning track. It takes him a bit to hold up his glove to show he had the ball. Amazing play, but not so amazing if he's hurt. He isn't standing up, not even sitting up. It feels like he's been down for 10 minutes when in reality it's only a couple of minutes. Our center fielder waves Couns up which I end up going out with him. "Sarah, stay alert. I might need you."
