Brooklyn~

Ever since I found out, I've been feeling everything. Extremely emotional, I cry over stupid, little things. The morning sickness, that never lets up until about noon. Christian has been an absolute angel ever since those took over. We've been traveling for a week and he's been there for every single thing. Anytime I feel so sick I just want to cry, he's been there. Or if I just start crying out of nowhere, he's hugging me and telling me everything's going to be okay even if nothing's wrong.

His hand laid across my belly as if I was showing and I wait for him to wake up. We're in Denver finishing this leg of the road trip and it's been kicking my ass. Nobody else knows except the two of us. That'll change tonight though. We're telling our families tonight over FaceTime since none of them are here with us. It's neutral ground so we aren't picking one side over the other and decided to call them at the same time.

Christian stirs in his sleep and sits up to face me. "Morning," he smiles, "How do you feel?"

"Better than yesterday."

"How long have you been up?"

I look down at my phone for the time, "45 minutes? I think."

"Did you want to go down for breakfast?"

"If I can get one of those waffles again, hell yes." He laughs and moves closer to me and leans in to kiss me.

"Let's get down there before the rest of them."

I move out of bed to put on some sweatpants and a t-shirt. I stand in front of the mirror as Christian puts on a sweatshirt. I pull up my shirt to see if I'm showing and to my surprise, I am. "Look," I tell him and turn so he can see too. It's small, but it's noticeable to us.

He has the biggest smile on his face as he comes over and hugs me. He leans down, eye-level with my small bump, and kisses it. He's going to be the best dad, and he already is.

He comes back up and kisses me once again.  "I love you and this little baby so much."

"You're going to make me cry and it's only like 9:30." He laughs as I reach over to grab the room key that sits on the small countertop.

I put the card and my phone in my pocket as we made our way to the elevator to take us down to the lobby. "I can't wait until he or she starts moving around," I tell him.

"It's going to be so cool."

I nod and smile because he's so excited, "That reminds me, did you want to find what we're having?"

"Do you?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"Would you want to do something like Maggie and Will?"

"Yeah, but it doesn't need to be huge. I feel like it could just be our families and the close friends."

"We could probably do it at the field. Once we start telling people, I'm sure Maggie would figure out something in a heartbeat."

I lower my voice as we exit the elevator, "I know she would. Do you want to hit a baseball?"

He shakes his head, "Yeah, probably makes the most sense for us."

Christian and I sit down at a table away from most of the group. "When'd you want to tell them?" he asks and points to some of the team. I shrug and purse my lips to the side, "I say we wait a few more weeks and hope I don't start showing too much. Otherwise, I'll just live in your hoodies until we do."

"That's fine."

I stare down at his food and scrunch up my face. "What's the face for?"

I laugh, "I don't know how you're eating that bacon. I can barely smell it, but just looking at it, makes me want to get sick."

"Don't look at it then."

I nudge him in the knee and he laughs, "I'm just saying," he says and makes me laugh as I take a drink of my water.

"Oh, god, I'm nervous," I tell Christian as I set up my laptop so we can FaceTime our parents. "Why are you nervous?"

"I don't know, just am." He laughs and hands me a bottle of water. "Thank you."

"Do you have that picture?" I ask him so we can have it ready. "Oh, yeah," he says pulling out his wallet and handing me the ultrasound picture. He wanted one of our pictures to keep with him at all times so he put one in his wallet and I think it's the cutest thing.

He sits down next to me and I finally call our parents. "Hi, mom," I say with a big smile on my face.

"You're dad is here too. Just getting something to drink."

"Okay, Alecia should be on soon." I turn the microphone off so I can talk to Christian. "I am shaking."

He kisses my head and I notice Alecia joined us. Oh god, here we go.

"Christian, you had such a good game," my dad tells him as I turn the mic back on. "Oh, thanks. Just gotta keep pushing through."

"So, why was this so important we had to do this tonight?" Alecia asks us. I guess we're just going to jump right in. Okay, well.

"So, are you guys busy around November 9th?"

"No, I don't think so," my mom says and Alecia agrees.

"Well, that's good, since we are welcoming Baby Yelich around then."

"Ahhhh!" My mom screams and starts crying. My dad sits there in shock, a good shock though. Alecia just started crying which in turn made me cry and soon Christian starts.

"How far along?" Alecia asks through her tears.

"Twelve weeks yesterday. We just found out like two weeks ago, so it was a surprise to us as well."

"Alecia, we're going to be grandmas!" Our baby is going to be so loved by his or her grandparents. "Do you guys know what you're having?"

We both shake our heads, "No, we're going to talk to Maggie when we get back and see if she'll do something small for us. It would just be our families and close friends, possibly at Miller Park," Christian tells them.

"Did you guys want to see? We have ultrasound pictures."

"YES!" Christian and I laugh before I hold up the picture to show our parents. "Oh my gosh," Alecia and my mom both say.

"How have you been feeling?"

I laugh, "Like crap."

Christian eyes widen and he nods, "I can attest to that."

"Well, hopefully, you'll start to feel better."

"God, I hope so."

They all laugh, "I think we're all so excited. You guys let us know if you need anything."

"We will. Love you guys."

"We love you, too."

Christian and I sit thereafter we ended the call with our parents. I reach for the picture that sat up against my screen and lean back into the chair. I stare at the ultrasound still in awe that there is a little combination of Christian and me just growing in me.

"I knew your mom was going to cry," I say and look up at him. "I figured she was going to cry. I didn't expect your dad to start crying."

"That's like the fourth time I've seen him cry. The others were both of my graduations and when we got married, that's it."

He puts his hand down on my lower abdomen, "I can't wait to meet this little one."

"Me too." I put my hand over his and he leans down to kiss me.
