Brooklyn~
"Are you sure you're okay with me leaving?" Christian asks me as I laid on the couch watching TV with his mom. "You have a job to do in Atlanta."
"But what happens if he does want to come a little early?"
"Christian, the doctor said 1-2 more weeks, not 1-2 more days. You're getting like me. Leave the worrying to me, I'm a pro at it."
"As long as you're okay with me leaving."
"And I am. Go before I change my mind." He laughs and leans down to kiss me, "I love you. I'll call you tonight when we're done."
"Okay, good luck, we'll be watching. I love you."
"Call or text me if anything happens,"
"We will," Alecia and I both say in unison. "Love you both. I will see you in two days."
"Okay, good luck honey."
Once the door closes Alecia speaks up, "I've never seen him that stressed before."
"I know he's excited but I didn't know he was this worried. It's usually me worrying."
"He is so excited and I can't wait to see you both be parents."
"He's going to be the best dad. I have zero doubts about that." I sit up and push myself up onto my feet. I won't be able to do that soon, I'm surprised I still can. Better take advantage while I still can.
I walk into the pantry and try to see if anything is screaming my name. I'm hungry but I don't know what for. Maybe peanut butter and apples? Those sound good. "Alecia, do you want anything from the kitchen while I'm up?"
"No, I'm good. Thank you though." I quickly chop up an apple into slices and put them in a small bowl so it's easier to carry. "I am going to find something to do in his room. I don't know what that is yet, but I'm sure there is something," I tell her as I walk over to the stairs.
"Okay, yell if you need anything." I nod and make my way up to his room. I should probably pack the hospital bag shouldn't I? That's pretty important. I set my snack down and scroll through my playlist and start playing music quietly. Now, where did we put it? His room is a disaster right now. There are so many boxes and bags of clothes, diapers, literally anything. I pull the bag from the closet and set it over on the dresser.
My music stops playing and my phone starts ringing. Is he seriously already calling me? I look over at my phone, yep he sure is. "You just left not even an hour ago."
"So? I can't talk to my beautiful, pregnant wife? You're usually with me when we go on trips, and now you're not."
"So, you miss me already?" I ask him as I take the paper filling out of the bag and toss it to the side. "Yeah, I do," I chuckle, "What are you doing?"
"Packing the hospital bag. Oh, and when you get back, we need to get the car seat in your car too."
"I was thinking about that when I was headed to the park."
"Which one?" I ask holding up two potential going home outfits for our little dude. One is a cute little baseball onesie, with Baby Yeli and Christian's number on the back. The other being a cute grey and white set with little elephants on the bottoms. "I think we have to do the baseball one."
"Only makes sense."
"I gotta go, we just made it to the airport," he says standing up and grabbing his stuff. "Okay. Call me after you're done."
"I will."
There's a small knock at our bedroom door and I roll over to see who's coming in. "Hey, how are you doing?" Maggie asks softly as she walks in.
