Christian~
"I'm gonna go pick mom up right now. Do you want to go?" I ask Brooklyn as she sat at our island on her laptop answering emails.
"Yeah, let me go put some shoes on." I watch her walk into our mudroom to find some shoes and the team windbreaker.
"Let's go," she says and tosses me my keys.
"Oh, so now I can drive," I tease at her as we walk toward my car. She turns her head and scoffs, "Well, you seem perfectly fine now."
"Does that mean I can start?"
She tilts her head, "Yep, I was gonna let Couns know that you can start tonight. Your knee looks great and I have no worries since you went out and decided to hit a homer last night and jogged the bases pretty well."
"Oh, thank you. I can't sit around and watch anymore." She laughs and shakes her head, "Well, you showed up last night."
"Mom, over here," I say getting her attention as she walks out of the baggage claim. She makes her way over to us as we stood at the back of my car waiting for her to come out. I hug her, "How was the flight?"
"Little bumpy but just fine. How are you guys?" she asks and hugs Brooklyn. "We're doing really well." I put her suitcase in the back of my car and we all get back into my car and head back to our home.
"What time is the game?"
"Starts at 6:10 but we have to be there around 4. We'll leave one of the cars so you don't have to wait around there and be bored."
"Oh, that'll work perfectly!"
Brooklyn~
"So I know the rest of your games are late while I'm here so when do you want to go over everything I brought?" Alecia asks me as we sat down in Christian and I's conjoined office going over what I have now.
"We can go over it now. I'm not sure what he's doing at the moment, but I can go see what's he doing. Or any other day before the game except for Monday. What if you showed us our options and then let us think about it before we actually decide."
"Let's do that and then you guys can sit on it."
"Okay, I'll go see what he's doing." I stand up from my chair and walk toward the stairs. I better go all the way upstairs just in case he was up in our room.
"Christian?" I question and walk around our house to try and find him. I hear nothing and start to head upstairs. "Yeah?"
I walk into our room and find him in the bathroom with just a towel around his waist. "When you're done can you come downstairs and look at what your mom got from our venue?"
"For what, food?" I nod, "Yeah, I'll be down in a minute."
"Thank you," I say and let him finish getting ready. I never understood why he showers before games when he knows he's going to be sweaty afterward.
"He said he'll be down."
"Okay, in general, do you know where you want to go with food? They have tons of options but do you want to stick to one meal or have two meals so your guests have options?"
"What's best?"
"Personally, I think two meals would be better so that we can cater to everyone," Christian walks in and sits in between Alecia and me, "You could do a meat option and then a pasta option."
Christian takes one of the many brochures Alecia brought with her, "I didn't realize weddings were this tedious," he says and Alecia and I chuckle. He leans back in his chair, "So, I'm thinking we do two different meals, as you said, a slice of meat or pasta for the main course. Then we could do small salads or different appetizers."
