Brooklyn~
Christian and I flew down to Atlanta for the week since he was invited to participate in the All-Star Game and he asked if I would go with him. I've never been to All-Star week so this was super exciting for me. I get the week off and I get to spend it with one of my favorite people. Luckily, it wasn't just Christian who made the All-Star team, it was also Brandon Woodruff, Moose, and Devin Williams. We flew into Atlanta on a private jet since it was a small group.
Christian also got invited to do the home run derby, but he wasn't sure if he was going to participate. Couns told me it was probably a good idea I go just to be sure none of them get hurt.
Here's the thing. Christian and I really haven't gone public with our relationship, outside of our family and of course the team. But, he wants me to walk to the red carpet with him and I'm extremely nervous. I've never walked a red carpet, let alone come out to the baseball community that we're dating.
Christian and I both had to be up earlier than we wanted to. While he was getting ready with a stylist, Counsell put me in charge of the guys, making sure they were up, and getting to where they needed to be. I knocked on each of their doors making sure they were up and ready to walk to the red carpet today.
I walk over to Christian's room and knock before opening the door with the master key. "Hey, how's it going in here?" I ask as I see a swarm of people around Christian. Some of the workers give me weird looks but I flash my badge and they leave it alone.
"I think I'm almost done," he says as I look at him through the mirror. I nod and look at my phone quick, 11:24, "Okay, I'm gonna start getting ready in the other room. I'll be back here around 12:30. We have to be ready by 1:00 to get on the truck to take us to the red carpet," I say as he nods and I soon head out the door.
I get back to our original room and start doing my hair with my curling wand, doing simple loose curls. Then, I quickly put some makeup on and start deciding which dress I should wear. I brought three, but all three match Christian so it doesn't matter what I pick. I settled on a low v-neck, long deep blue dress that would match Christian's blazer and pants. It has spaghetti straps and a slit up the left leg and damn did make me look good. I paired it with some simple gold jewelry and classy white shoes to make it pop. I look at my phone and see Christian texted me.
Christian: Hey beautiful, are you almost ready? Mom is down in the lobby waiting for us to be done.
"Yeah just finishing up. Do you want me to come to you?"
Christian: You know what, I just finished. I'll come to you.
"Okay, see you in a few."
I throw my phone on the bed and started to put on my shoes. I hear a knock at my door and get up and see Christian patiently waiting for me to open the door. I open it up and his eyes go wide and he smiles seeing me. "You look amazing," he says as he walks through the door and I grab my small clutch and phone.
I smile, "I'm really glad they didn't put you in something crazy," I say fixing his pocket square. He laughs, "Oh, come on, you know I wouldn't let that happen. I'm too simple for all of that," I laugh and head to the bathroom to grab a bobby pin and pin some of my curls back and out of my face.
We walk hand in hand down to the lobby to see his mom and brothers. I smile seeing all of them waiting for us with the rest of the guys and their wives or girlfriends.
"Oh, Brooklyn, it's so nice to see you again. This dress is incredible," Alecia says as we bring in each other for a hug. "Oh, thank you," I say as I watch Christian interact with his brothers, Collin and Cam.
"Brooklyn, these are my brothers. Collin and Cam," I smile and greet them as they bring me in for a slight hug. I look at my phone to see if I have any notifications for Christian and the guys and luckily our trucks were ready and out front of the hotel. "Christian? The truck is ready for us," I say as we make our way out of the hotel and by the truck we were taking.
Christian helps his mom and me up onto the tailgate and we sit down waiting to be taken to Truist Park and walk down the red carpet.
We pull up to the red carpet and Christian helps me down from the tailgate and soon we are told to walk along the carpet with the rest of baseball's bright and shining stars. Christian meets with some fans that were lined up at the beginning of the carpet while I stay back with his family. "Does it ever get old?" I ask Alecia.
She looks at me and smiles, "Does whatever get old honey?" she asks out of curiosity.
I smile and laugh, "Seeing Christian do amazing things. Like, I've been with him for a few months and it never gets old seeing him compete and do incredible things. You're the one that has been there since the beginning, obviously, but has it ever gotten old?"
"Brooklyn, I love seeing him compete the way he does. He shows me every day that I raised him to be this amazing person. He amazes me every single day with what he does, not only as a baseball player but as a person as well. So, no, it doesn't ever get old," she says and I smile with her.
I smile and watch Christian mingle with some of his teammates and teammates across the league. He comes over to his family and me and has me go with him and walk the red carpet. We walk in with our hands intertwined and heads up. We stop where the first group of cameras is and Christian wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me closer to him. I put my arm around his back and keep a smile on my face.
"Christian! Over here!" we hear and we look toward a group of reporters. We head over to him and start talking. "Christian, who did you bring with you this week?"
He smiles and looks down at me, "Well, I brought my mom and two brothers, and this incredible woman standing next to me," I smile and look at the reporter. "May I ask who this is?" Christian looks at me for the go-ahead, "Hi, I'm Brooklyn and I work for the Brewers with the athletic training staff and also happen to be with this one today," I say confidently.
"So, are you two together?" Christian and I both laugh and nod in agreement. "Well, congratulations." We both nod and head our way back onto the red carpet and stop for some more pictures.
Christian was participating in the actual All-Star Game and was starting in right field. I sat with his family, enjoying the beautiful weather, and watching him play the game he loves. It was the 4th inning and Christian was up to bat and the first pitch he sees, he sends it way over the left-field fence, earning cheers from all around the stadium. Alecia and I jump up in excitement and hug each other.
Christian and the rest of the national league team won the game and I couldn't be more ecstatic for him and the rest of the team.
Christian and I made our way back to our hotel room. As soon as we get into the door, Christian picks me up and lets me wrap my legs around his waist. We kiss for a few minutes before I break away and he makes his way down my neck.
I run my hands through his hair, "You did absolutely amazing today. It was really sexy to see," I say as his hands roam my body but still hold me up. "Yeah?" he asks as he looks into my eyes. "Absolutely," I say, and kiss him again. He brings me to the bed and looks me in the eyes.
"I love you," he says and the smile grows on my face.
"I love you too," I say as we continue to get lost in the night.
