"Ryan, I'm so excited you're back for the year. I don't know what I'm going to do without our daily banter," I say as we board our chartered flight to Phoenix to start Spring Training. "I feel like this is our year. I think we can get it again. And, that's how I want it to end, with something big."

"Well, it's a good way to go out, that's for sure. Now, let's just get there. It's a new year, with new guys."

I sit down in my seat next to Christian. Ryan leans back over to me as Greyson sits on his lap, "Don't worry, this banter will never go away."

We all laugh, "Oh, great."

"Anything change in the medical department?" Christian asks me as our plane starts to take off.

I lean my head back on the seat, "Not that I know of. I know they were thinking about hiring another trainer or physical therapist so that if Jordan or I had to leave or take off we wouldn't be alone. We're also going to be doing daily medical staff meetings with you guys just to go over safety stuff, but it's only during Spring Training and then a few during the season."

"Yay, I'm so excited," he says in a very sarcastic tone. I nudge him with my elbow, "You like hearing me talk."

"It's not that, but does it have to be daily?"

"Yes. They're like 15-30 minutes, that's it."

He acts like I'm excited about them. I'm not. I'm the one leading them, and it was completely out of my control.

Carter waddled his way over to me and starts to climb up my seat. "C'mere you little monster," I pick him up and set him in my lap. I see Christian watching us from the corner of my eye and I laugh as Carter says something. His talking skills are there. Sometimes it's hard to understand him. I scroll through my phone as Carter lays his head on my shoulder and snuggles into me.

"He loves you so much," Larisa says as she puts his blanket over him. I smile, "I would take this any day," I tell her quietly. I try to grab my bag as it sits by my feet but I can't since Carter is laying across me now. Christian takes notice and grabs it for me, "AirPods?" he asks and I nod.

He hands them to me, "Thank you," I say and he leans over and kisses my cheek. After I put them in, I'm starting to pass out. Carter's like a small heating pad that lays across my body. That starts to put me to sleep real quick.

I feel the landing of our plane, signaling we've made it to Phoenix. I look out the window and see the mountains that surround the city. I look down and still find Carter passed out, but stirring in his sleep.

"Did you sleep?" I ask Christian as I try to stretch my back out as best as I can. He nods and I look down at Carter as he lifts his head up.

"Do you wanna go see your momma?" I ask him as Larisa comes up in front of me with her hands out. He looks around and reaches for her. I stand up and get our bags down from the overhead bin.

"It's good to be back," I say as we walk down the stairs onto the tarmac.

"I'm excited to start up again," Christian tells me and wraps his arm around me as we wait for the car to come pick us up and take us to the apartment.

"Do we have to go today?" he asks me as we walk to the elevator to go up to his apartment. Well, I guess it's ours? I'm not really sure.

"I need to go there and get set up, but you don't have to go for the next four days."

"Can I come with you?"

"I don't see why you couldn't. It'll be pretty boring. I'm just stocking and going over some injury reports," I tell him as he unlocks the door and we head in.
