Brooklyn~

"Happy Mother's Day," Christian says coming into our bedroom with some flowers in his hand. He's the sweetest. I move my laptop off my lap as he comes and sits down by me. "Thank you. But you didn't have to," I say and he hands me the beautiful bouquet of sunflowers and roses.

"Yes, I did. You're carrying our baby and you make it look easy," he leans in to kiss me and I gladly accept. "Did you have breakfast?"

"No, I've been working since I woke up."

"Take a break. Come have breakfast with me."

"Okay," I move the covers off of my legs and swing my legs off the edge of the bed. I smell the flowers, "I love them."

He pulls me up and out of bed, "What were you working on?" he asks as I find some sweatpants before exiting our room.

We walk down the stairs, "Emails."

"Oh, you always love those," he says sarcastically and I sit on one of the stools at the island. I lay my head on the counter, "Tired?"

I nod, "I'm surprised you didn't feel me moving around constantly. I couldn't get comfy."

"You could've woken me up."

"No, you need your sleep if you want to keep being this All-Star baseball player who I love."

"Still could've woken me up. Also, All-Star? I don't know about that."

I look up and smile, "All-Star in my eyes."

He smiles and hands me some food, "Then that's good enough for me."

"Thank you." He comes over and sits by me, "What time were you up until?"

"Well, you went to sleep around 11 I think and I tried to fall asleep then too. I got up around 1 or 2 and came downstairs and got a drink of water. Laid on the couch for half an hour before going back upstairs and finally fell asleep an hour later."

"Don't know how you do it," he says and I shrug. "He or she makes up for it. Doesn't bother me unless we have a super long day."

I sit back and put my hand on my growing belly, "We need to take our weekly picture to send to our parents otherwise they will freak out if we don't," I say and laugh at the thought of them doing that. He reaches over and rubs my belly, "We can do it after I'm done eating. How big is he or she getting?"

"Big as an avocado," I say and smile and look down at where his hand rested.

I walk into my office with shit scattered everywhere and so much shit to do. I groan and set my bag down and start to pick up. I hear some of the guys start to walk in as I continue to clean. Jordan and Sarah can handle them for now. I feel this tiny flutter in my stomach as I move shit around and drop what was in my hands. My hands go straight to my belly to see if it'll happen again. I go over and sit down in my chair and wait for it to hopefully happen again.

"Hey, why are you out the- What's going on?" Christian asks coming into my office. I look up at him, "I think I just felt a tiny little kick, and it was the best feeling ever." He shuts the door and kneels in front of me, "Where?" he asks quietly.

I take his hand and place it on my lower abdomen, "I was just moving some stuff around and it was like a flutter, made me drop what I was holding." He chuckles and moves closer to me, "C'mon little one, show daddy what you got," he says into my belly. He's going to be the best dad. There is no doubt in my mind.

I run my fingers through his hair and he leans his head on my belly. "I'm not sure if you'll be able to feel a kick. I only felt it on the inside. I couldn't feel anything on my hands." He doesn't say anything, but he waits until he feels something or until I do. "Do you feel anything?" he asks and looks up at me. I shake my head, "No, not right now."

"What'd it feel like?"

"Like butterflies, like a wave if that makes sense. Something I've never physically felt before and it was extraordinary. I've been waiting for the day for this to happen." He smiles and leans up to kiss me after this extremely real and sweet moment.

There's a small knock on my door and it puts me back into reality. "And there's reality coming back," he laughs and moves out of my way so I can answer whoever's on the other side. "Hey, sorry, we're just getting a bit busy," Sarah tells me as I prop my door open again. "Nope, you're all good. I'll be out in a minute."

"Okay," she says and smiles before going back to work. I walk back over to Christian and wrap my arms around him. He does the same and we stand there taking this all in. That tiny little flutter or kick just made my entire day, maybe even my entire week. I look up at him and smile, "I love you."

He kisses the top of my head, "I love you, too."

"Christian, are we going to pick up your mom now?" I ask him walking down the stairs into the living room. He shuts the TV off and stands up, "Yeah, she just texted me that her plane landed. You look great."

I smile and look down, "Really wish I felt like that." He stands up and walks over to me, "You're beautiful to me even when you don't think you are."

"I am too emotional for you to be saying cute shit like that to me." He just laughs and pulls me into him. "Mom's going to be so excited to see you."

"I can't wait."

I spot Alecia in the midst of a group coming out of the baggage claim, "There she is," I say and Christian is quick to notice his mom walking out looking for us. She walks over to us and hugs Christian before hugging me. "Brooklyn, you look great. How are you doing?"

"I have my days. Definitely more good than bad," I say and laugh and hug her. I've missed her so much since we've been back in Milwaukee.

"I'm glad you and this little one are doing well." Christian puts her bag in the back before we get back into Christian's car.

"Are you guys excited to find out?" Alecia asks us as we make our way back home. "Yeah. I think we're both anxious to find out tonight."

"Oh, I'm sure."

"Mom, what do you think we're having?"

I can tell she's thinking about it, "Boy."

"Mom, you were supposed to say a girl and be on my side." Alecia and I both laugh at his clear saltiness, "Brooklyn, does that mean you think it's a boy."

"Yeah, I just have a feeling."

"Great minds think alike." She's not wrong, we both have great minds.

"I am asking your parents later before everything. Somebody has to agree with me."

"What are you talking about? Collin agrees with you and Cam said he didn't know yet," I say, still laughing.

Alecia laughs along with us, "God, you two are just perfect for each other." I grin and look over at Christian who has a matching smile on his face. I think I did a damn good job of keeping him around. First, my boyfriend, then my fiancee, now my husband, and now my baby daddy. I'd say we are pretty close to perfect, if not perfect. We're like two peas in a pod, going through life and the crazy lifestyle we both chose to live. He's my soulmate and now we get to venture on this crazy joy of parenthood.

What do you think they're having?
