Christian~

"Where's your head at right now?" I ask Brooklyn as we quietly walk back to my car and go home. She gets in and stays silent. "I don't know right now," she whispers and puts her seatbelt on.

"Are you calling in?" I ask because she'd be crazy if she didn't. She needs to call in at least for today and tomorrow. "Yeah, I know I can't go in without breaking down."

"Okay, I'm gonna stay home because I don't want to deal with the guys today." She nods and stays silent the rest of the drive home. I don't even know what to say right now. I don't know even know where my head is at. I don't know where her head is at.

"I just called us both in. The only thing I said was we need a couple of days something came up, a family emergency. Couns said he would let Jordan and Sarah know to continue like it's a normal day and that you wouldn't be in for the next few days," I tell Brooklyn as she lays down on the couch. "Okay, thank you."

"How are you feeling? Do you need anything?"

"Can you just come and lay with me?" she asks me and I kick off my shoes and get underneath the blanket that was laying over her. She lays her head on my chest and starts to completely relax her body. She's been through way too much in a span of four hours.

I look down and see she's fast asleep in my arms. Good, she needs it. I feel my phone buzzing in my side pocket and pull it out to see Ryan calling me.

"Hey, what's up?" I ask him quietly.

"Well, what's up with you guys. Couns just let us know you weren't coming in today and then also said it was just going to be Jordan and Sarah for the next few days." I was really hoping he wasn't going to ask because I don't know how much I can say without pushing it.

"Ryan, I want to tell you but I can't push Brooklyn's limits right now. Ask Larisa to tell you what happened when we were in St. Louis and then figure it out from there. I can't step over this line. I won't be in today or possibly tomorrow and Brooklyn won't be in for the next few days, maybe even for a week."

"Okay, I won't push it. We're thinking about you guys. Let us know if either of you needs anything."

"Thanks, man."

I put my phone down in between us and start to rub her back again. I turn the TV on to pass some time while she sleeps and recovers. The doctor said there would be some minor cramping and bleeding so the best thing to do was to sleep and drink lots of water. I look down at her and brush some of her baby hairs out of her face. You can clearly tell she'd been crying, her under eyes were puffy and her cheeks were tear-stained. I wish I could do more. I hate seeing her like this. I know how excited she was for our baby. Our baby.

Brooklyn starts to turn in my arms and lets out a breath. She moves her hand to shield her eyes from the lights that were on in the kitchen. "Do we have Advil down here?" she asks me and I look around.

"No, I'll go get it. Do you need anything else?"

"Water." I get up and grab the Advil from upstairs and come back downstairs into the kitchen to grab a water for her. "I'm going to go get your prescription. Text me if you need anything," I tell her as I hand her the medicine bottle and water.

"I can't think of anything right now." I nod and lean down and kiss her gently. I can see it in her face that all she wants to do is cry, but I know she won't, not right now at least. "I'll be back."

On my way back home my phone started to ring and I see her mom calling me, "Hey, Liz."

"Hey, Christian, how is she doing?"
