Christian~

It's currently around 4:30 am and I walked into Brooklyn's apartment expecting her to be up and ready for us to leave for Miller Park so all of us could head to Los Angeles to play the Dodgers in the NLDS. Our regular season ended and we were on a roll, winning like crazy with big numbers being put up, pitching was stepping up their game, and seemed like we were unbeatable. Knock on wood it stays like that and we can make it to the World Series.

"Brooklyn?" I call out as I walk further into her apartment and turn the corner and see her sprawled out on the couch with a blanket over her. She didn't even make it to her bed last night. Her suitcase is standing up by the end table with her work bag on top.

I kneel down and gently rub her back and side to try to wake her up. "Hey, you gotta get up. We have to leave soon," I say just above a whisper and kiss her forehead.

She wakes up but rolls over onto her stomach more and groans. "What time is it?" she says and opens her eyes and looks at me.

"Around 4:30. What time did you go to sleep?" I say as she looks exhausted.

"Like around 2:30," she says and gets up and heads to her room as I follow closely.

"What the hell were you doing up at 2:30. I dropped you off here at 11:30," I say and watch her put on some leggings and one of my crew necks. "After you dropped me off, I showered right away. Then I had to still pack so that took about an hour. I had so much energy still so I started to clean around my apartment because I wanted to come home to a clean place. So I did my laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and just, in general, all around my place," she says going back and forth from her room to the bathroom grabbing some essential toiletries like her toothbrush and toothpaste.

She heads back out to her suitcase and puts all of her essential toiletries in her suitcase. "I think I just passed out when I was done folding my laundry and I must've ignored the alarms I had set," she tells me and I laugh and hand her, her phone and computer chargers. "Thank you."

She stands back up and finds some comfy shoes to wear as we have a 4-hour flight ahead of us. "Is it a little chilly out?" she asks and I nod, "Just a little." She puts on the team windbreaker and grabs her backpack. "Let's go," she says and pushes her suitcase through the door and locks it. I take her suitcase and start rolling it down to my car.

I put her suitcase next to mine in the back of my car and get in, "Here's some coffee," I say, "It's from our favorite place." She smiles and takes it from my hand and takes a sip. On one of our first dates back here in Milwaukee, I took her to this coffee shop in downtown Milwaukee and we both loved it.

"Mmm, thank you," she says and puts it back down and grabs my free hand, and holds it in her lap as we start the drive to Miller Park.

We get to the park and unload my car and start to walk to where the buses will pick us up. Ryan comes up to us but Brooklyn doesn't realize because she stands there with her eyes closed. "Brooklyn, are you that tired? he asks and all she gives him is a nod.

"Okay, then," he says and we both laugh.

I wrap my arms around her head and bring her into my embrace as she stands there. "Don't worry you can sleep on the plane," I say and kiss the top of her head. The buses start pulling up and she lifts her head to see them come into view. She sighs and grabs a hold of her luggage and starts wheeling into the bottom of the bus so it can be put underneath us. We board the bus and she crawls into a seat and immediately puts her head back on the seat to try to get some more sleep.

Ryan sits down across from me and looks at Brooklyn and gives me a weird look, "Why is she so tired?" he asks. I look back at her and smile noticing she's asleep. Well, that was quick. "She was up until 2:30 cleaning, packing, and passed out on her couch and I found her there this morning."
