Christian~

"Can you believe we're closing in on the wedding?"

She shakes her head as we lay out on the outdoor furniture, "No, it's crazy. A little over a month left." She takes my hand and interlaces our fingers together. "This next month is going to fly by."

"I'm okay with that," she looks up at me with the cutest smile on her face. My other hand rests on her side as we look out at the sunset. We just got back from my birthday dinner with my family and just wanted to relax with the sunset and some wine.

"How was your birthday?"

"Amazing. I got to spend it with my favorite people and my favorite girl." She snuggles herself into me more, "I'm glad."

"Do you wanna go inside and watch something?" She sits up out of my arms and stands up. I hold my hand out and she chuckles and grabs my hand. I hand her, her glass of wine and lean down to kiss her. "I love you."

"I love you."

I follow her into the house and to the living room. As she turns on the TV I lean over the couch, "Do you want more wine?"

"No, I'm just going to finish this off. I'm not trying to be wine drunk by the end of the night." I laugh and fill my glass up halfway.

"You think you're going to be wine drunk if you had one more glass?"

"Yes. I had two glasses at dinner and this would be my second glass here. If I had one more, I'm sure I would've ended up a bit drunk."

I laugh again and go sit back down by her. She throws a blanket over us and snuggles back into me.

Brooklyn~

"Christian, can you come here?" I shout from the dining room table. I hear his footsteps from upstairs and quickly make their way down to me.

I pull one of my legs into my chest as he moves a chair next to me, "What's up?"

"Can you look this over so I can get it to your mom and Maggie?" He moves my laptop in front of him and starts to scroll through our reception playlist and also the important songs; first dance, walk down the aisle, my dance with my dad, etc.

"Did you add in those songs I sent you?"

"I knew I was forgetting something." I scroll through our texts to get the songs he sent me and quickly put them into the very long playlist I have compiled over the past few months.

"Okay, this good now?"

"Yeah, I think this looks good." He kisses the side of my head, "Six weeks."

"Six weeks."

"Honey, you look great. Is this what you're going to do?" Alecia asks me as I walk into her house. I had to make sure my dress got her okay. And I wanted to make sure we had everything. I just got done with my hair and makeup trial.

"Yeah, I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to lighten up my hair. But, I think this is what I'm going with."

"You look great. Your dress is in Christian's room if you wanted to go see it. The rest of the stuff is up there too." I nod and make my way up to his room and see it hanging in the closet in a bag. I open the bag and get giddy seeing it. This is going to look so good.

"Brooklyn, I wanted to show you the photos I had printed of you guys. We just need to put them into the frames," Alecia tells me as I zip up the bag.

"Oh, you got those done?"

"Yes! They just came in the mail the other day. Do you want to see them?"

"Yes, that would be great. Maybe I can get Christian over here later so we can decide which one's to put out."

"Or, you can just take them now and go over it with him when you get home."

"That'll work. Last I knew he was at the gym when I left. I'm sure he's back now."

"Probably. Do you need anything else while you're here?"

"No, I think I'll take those with me so we can go over them. Tomorrow I can come back over and we can get them in the frames and that can be done. You got the playlist right?"

"Yes! All great songs too. I shared the important songs with the director of the venue, so those should be good to go."

"Awesome, thank you. I'll text you if something comes up tomorrow."

"Okay, honey, love you."

"Love you, too."

I walk into the house and see Christian sitting at the island. I place the pictures on the island and grab something to drink. "Oh, you look good."

I smile and turn back to him, "Thank you."

"What are these?"

"Those are the pictures that we ordered to put in the frames that'll sit at all of the guest tables. We just need to go through them and decide which ones we want to use."

He looks at each one, some better than others. I can tell he knows which ones he likes since his smile gets bigger the more he stares at them. Some photos are from our engagement photoshoot, others are from during the season. World Series wins, first date, vacations, the engagement, us visiting different cities. There are so many to choose from. And I love most of them.

He sorts them into piles as he continues to look through them and I scroll through my phone, "Okay, this pile is I think we should definitely use. This one is if we have extra we should use. Then these are like okay. I mean if we use them, they'd look great no matter what."

I slightly laugh at his poor explanation of the piles he's created, "Okay, I'll look through them."

"How was your workout?"

"It went great. It's good to be doing something again. I just took it easy and then I hit for 15 minutes."

"Sounds fun," I say and walk over to him. "What do you want for dinner?"

"Hmm. Do we have stuff for chicken fajitas?"

"I think so."

"Let's do those then." I nod and brush my fingers through his hair. "You need a haircut." It's getting a bit shaggy for his liking I think.

"I know. I don't know if I just want to wait until a few days before the wedding to get it cut or if I should just go now and then get it cut once again."

"Why don't you just wait?"

"Probably easier to wait." I slightly laugh and nod.

"Is this what you're doing?"

I nod, "Yeah, I'm just gonna go a bit lighter in a couple of weeks. It'll be something like this."

"I like it, a lot," he tells me placing a hand on my hip and pulling me closer to him.

"3... 2... 1... Happy New Year!" most of us say as we stand out on our deck bringing in the New Year once again with our friends and family. Christian pulls me into him and kisses me. I bring down the glass of champagne from my face and deepen the kiss. Fireworks start going off in the distance, and yet, it seems like it's just Christian and I, right here, right now. It feels like nobody else is around. It's like we're in our own little world.

"We get married this year," I tell him with the biggest grin on my face.

"We're so close. So, so close."

We lean up against the railing and watch as our friends enjoy the New Year and admire the fireworks going up and down the coast.

I think about how the next 4 weeks are going to fly by. We don't have much to do, which is great, but I also know I'm just gonna be a mess making sure I have everything done. We'll be lucky if we don't forget anything.
