Wilbur was having the time of his life. The performance had gone perfectly. The crowd loved it, it felt so good to be cheered on. So why was there a pit in his stomach?
"Tommy will be upset he missed this." Tubbo sighed.
Wilbur bit his lip, nodding, "Yeah, he was busy tonight."
"Doing what?" Techno suddenly spoke up. If Wilbur couldn't even lie to Tommy, how on Earth was he going to lie to his twin?
"Uh homework? He-e didn't say."
Tubbo and Ranboo exchanged looks, "Homework? We didn't have an homework today since it's the last day of the semester."
Phil raised an eyebrow, "Wilbur?"
"What-t?" Wilbur could taste blood.
"What did you do?"
The pit grew in his stomach as he stared at the ground. Suddenly his fun was over. The night wasn't worth anything without Tommy... was it?
"I... I didn't tell him... I yelled at him." Wilbur whispered. Why did it sound so horrible?
"You did what?" Techno gasped.
"Why didn't you tell him?" Niki asked gently.
"I-I didn't want him to come. He would hog the spotlight, like he always does."
"You don't know how wrong you are." Techno shook his head.
"What do you mean?" Wilbur looked up at him with glassy eyes.
"He loves you Wilbur, more than anything. The only reason he ever wanted to do band was because of you. He wanted to make you proud."
Wilbur's eyes widened. He... he wanted to make me proud. How could he have been so stupid? How could he not have seen it? Without any warning, Wilbur sprinted out of the building and towards his car.
He couldn't remember the last time he had told Tommy he was proud of him. He jumped in his car, speeding off towards his house.
Tommy had been the first one to support him with his music. He had listened every night, even when the songs he wrote sucked. Even when he was frustrated. Tommy was always there.
Tears began pouring before he even reached the end of the parking lot. He was such a horrible brother not to see it. How could he have been so blind?
As soon as he pulled up beside the house, he leaped out, barely remembering to put in park. He slowly reached the door, hesitating. Would Tommy even talk to him?
Suddenly music began to sing through the walls. It was a piano. Wait he recognized that song... it was his. Saline Solution. He gasped in shock. Only one person could be playing that.
Tommy.
He opened the door and ran in, moving towards the music. Sure enough, the blonde sat there, his fingers playing the notes. Another wave of tears came and he did nothing to stop it.
That was his baby brother. The boy he had watched grow up. The boy who had supported him through everything. Through his breakup, through his fights with Techno, through his breakdowns.
He stood there, taking it all in. When the music stopped he heard Tommy sigh. He watched him turn around, his bright blue eyes widening in shock. Tommy was quick to wipe his tears, looking down in shame.
"Tommy..."
"What do you want Wilbur?" he sniffed, trying desperately to stop crying.
"I'm so proud of you."
Tommy's head snapped up at his words. Did he really just say that? He slowly stood up. "I-I thought- but you said."
Wilbur couldn't take it anymore. He raced to the blonde, throwing his arms around him. "I was so wrong Tommy. I-I'm so sorry. I-I-" Wilbur sobbed, holding his little brother as close as he could.
Tommy hugged back with just as much force. "I love you Wilby." he whispered, feeling the older stiffen at his words.
"How can you forgive me-e? Just like that?"
Tommy smiled, "Because you're my big brother."
"I don't know what I did to deserve you Toms." he hugged even tighter, if that was possible. "I love you so much and I'm so proud of you. Don't you dare ever think otherwise."
The two brothers stayed like that for a while, having no reason to move. Nothing else mattered.
It was the best feeling in the world.

Hope you liked it! I feel like those are some of the best words to hear. "I'm proud of you." I think it's something people should say more often. I definitely wish I heard it more than I do. Unfortunately it's hard for people to be proud of you when they don't understand writing. But that's okay.
If anyone needs to hear it. I'm proud of you!
