Lead the Team to Victory (Techno and Tubbo)

Tubbo POV

Tubbo sighed, leaning back in his chair. His monitor lit the room dimly, reminding him that he should sleep. He shook his head, fidgeting his fingers. What was he going to do? Would Techno be mad at him?

He knew how much the older had been looking forward to MCC All-Stars. But now with his cancer, he just didn't have the energy. So when it came time to planning out the teams, Tubbo had been put in to replace Techno.

Tubbo was honored of course, but he couldn't help but worry what the older thought of him.

An icon appeared on his screen, forcing him back to reality. Techno was calling him. The boy hesitated, his hand resting on his mouse. He bit his lip, did he really want to talk to Techno? Tubbo gave in, clicking accept.

"Hey Techno."

"Halloooo." the older's voice came through just as it always did. He didn't ever seem to change. Techno was always Techno.

"How uh, how are you?" Tubbo cleared his throat.

"I'm alright, the usual." Techno replied, pausing.

Tubbo paused, holding his breath. Techno was going to yell at him, he was sure of it. 

"Are you alright Tubbo?"

Tubbo looked up at the screen in surprise. "What do you mean?"

"I just figured you be more excited." Techno commented. "I mean, you're with the best team in the game."

Tubbo's jaw dropped. "You're... you're not mad?" 

Techno laughed, not really understanding. "What do you mean? Why would I be mad?"

Tubbo looked away, his face red with embarrassment. "I-I replaced you... and I'm obviously not as good as you. I'm going to be the one to let the team down..."

"Tubs." Techno began, pausing. "You're going to be so amazing, I know it. Phil, Wilbur, and Tommy are so excited to have you. I mean, Tommy literally wouldn't shut up about it. And you know Phil, he's proud of you like he always is. And Wilbur can't wait to take you under his wing like he always does." Tubbo could feel a smile growing on his face. "Tubbo you are way more important than you think. You're the glue that holds them together."

Tubbo was speechless, he didn't know what to say. He couldn't believe Techno had said all those things. "You really mean all of that?"

"Of course." Techno reassured him. "All you need to do is try your best. Just do one thing for me, alright?"

"What?"

"Lead them to victory."
