What Happened Between Us? (Tommy and Rowan) (2/4)

It's been a while, but I figured I should probably finish this one shot! :)

Tommy POV

Life had been perfect. All of my dreams had come true over the past year and I could hardly believe it. All the members of the SMP had moved to the US. Now all of us lived in Florida, nearby so we could post even more content together.

It had been an incredible experience so far. I loved waking up everyday to see my best friends. But most of all I loved being able to make videos every day.

"Tommy?" a knock made me look up from my monitor.

"Yeah?" I called, watching as the door creaked open a bit.

Wilbur peeked in, a bright smile on his face. "You ready? We're leaving in a few minutes."

I nodded, shutting my computer down before grabbing my coat and joining him. "I'm ready!" I announced. Wilbur chuckled, ruffling my hair before leading me to the living room.

Techno, Wilbur, Phil, and I were heading to the beach to hangout and vlog. The rest of the SMP were headed to the theme park. I would go, but I didn't like heights or roller coasters. I had offered to stay by myself, but Wilbur wouldn't let me. So instead the four of us were headed to the beach.

As soon as we saw the water in the distance, I glanced at Wil, silently daring him. He smirked, completely understanding the competition I had just suggested. Without a second thought we began sprinting towards the water with Techno and Phil chuckling behind us.

"Look after him Wil!" Phil shouted, knowing I wasn't the greatest swimmer.

"Got it!" Wilbur yelled back, far more focused on beating me to the ocean.

My feet touched the water first, making me immediately celebrate the victory. "I'm the biggest man-"

The victory was short-lived when Wilbur tackled me. I was only under the water for a moment before Wilbur pulled me up, laughing. I panted, trying to catch my breath. 

"You alright Toms?" he questioned, looking over at me with a hint of concern.

"Yeah." I nodded, waving him off.

Wilbur's concern didn't disappear. He knelt down, offering, "Piggy back ride?"

I grinned, jumping on his back without even answering the question. He laughed, nearly falling over in surprise before regaining his balance. The two of us took off back to land.

The four of us had a blast, enjoying each other's company. We even managed to get the blade himself in the water. After spending hours in the sun, we laid on the sand enjoying shade that was provided by Phil's umbrella.

"You guys are the best." I smiled, curling up beside Wilbur.

"Awww Toms, I love you too." Wilbur cooed, wrapping an arm around my torso, pulling me closer.

"Love you mate." Phil ruffled my hair.

Techno grunted, saying nothing.

I looked towards him, pretending to be annoyed. "Really Techno?"

"What?" he asked, acting innocent.

"You don't love me?" I whined, tugging at his arm.

"Hmmmmm." he said thoughtfully. A moment passed before he laughed, "Of course I do nerd."

I smiled, closing my eyes and just enjoying the moment with them. With my family. A sadness tugged at my heart, making me puzzled. Before I could really think about it, bickering was heard in the distance.

"Why didn't you just admit you were afraid of heights? It would have made things so much easier!"

"I am not afraid of heights."

"Admit it you big baby. The great Dream has a weakness. Congrats, get over it."

Dream groaned as he came into view, shaking his head. "Shut up!"

Alongside him stood Drista, still as sarcastic as always. The teen rolled her eyes, before moving towards the others. "We had to leave the park, figured we come here to bother you guys."

"Are you really afraid of heights Dream?" Techno smirked, looking the blonde.

Dream looked away, embarrassment creeping up his face. 

"There's nothing to be ashamed of." Phil reassured him, offering him a warm smile.

"We all know Tommy doesn't like water very much either."

"Hey!" I interrupted.

"It's true Toms." Wilbur chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, making no comment. Suddenly I stopped as a name came to my brain. "Rowan." I whispered, my eyes wide. I didn't even realize I had said it out loud.

"What?" Wilbur asked, noticing my wide eyes. "Toms, what's wrong?"

"Never mind." I shook my head, untangling myself from Wilbur's arms. A flash of hurt reflected his eyes, but he let me go. "I'll be right back."

I moved towards the edge of the beach, taking my phone out after I had grabbed it from Phil. I immediately searched for Rowan's number before pressing call. Holding it up to my ear, I waited as it rung. Eventually it went to voicemail, making my anxiety rise. What if something was wrong? 

I cursed myself for forgetting. How could I not call my sister in so long? What kind of a brother was I?

Swiftly I called my mother, hoping she would at least answer. Thankfully she did.

"Tommy?"

"Hey Mom." I said, smiling when I heard her voice.

"Thank God!" she cried out in relief. "You need to come home."

"What's wrong?" I asked, my heart thumping harder in my chest.

"It's Rowan."
