Tommy POV

Tommy still couldn't understand how it happened. Tubbo had always been his friend for as long as he could remember. They had always had each other's backs.

So what happened? Why was he suddenly pushed aside?

It was that new boy.

The moment he walked in, Tommy got nervous. Almost instantly Tubbo introduced himself. After all he sat right next to the brunette to begin with. Tommy tried not to get jealous, to simply let it go as Tubbo just wanting to be friendly. Tubbo would never forget him... right?

Tommy tried to pay attention in class, like he always did. But it was much harder hearing Tubbo and the new kid giggling across the room. He would be lying if he said it didn't hurt. Nevertheless he tried not to let it get to his head. He just needed to get through the day then he was planning to hangout with Tubbo after school.

Class went by slow and Tommy had never been so happy to hear the bell ring. Tommy quickly got to his feet, a smile on his face as he collected his things. Glancing towards Tubbo, he stopped.

Tubbo was already gone and out the door with the new boy. Tommy swallowed, taking a deep breath. He was just being friendly. Maybe the new kid needed someone to show him around. That must be it.

Tommy put a smile on his face, trying to focus on the plan after school. He moved through the rest of his classes at the same pace, trying to ignore the thorn in his heart. Lunch he figured he would get a break.

But he couldn't be more wrong.

Lunch was even worse.

He walked into the cafeteria, his lunch in his hand. He searched the tables, hoping to see Tubbo waving like he always did. His heart sunk when he saw Tubbo sitting with the new kid at their table.

Taking a deep breath, he made his way over to the table. The new kid just needed someone to sit by, that's all.

"Hey Tubbo." he waved, biting his lip when Tubbo seemed to ignore him. "Hey Tubbo." he repeated, speaking a bit louder.

Tubbo jumped out of his skin, looking up at Tommy. "Jeez Tommy! Do you have to be so loud?" he scowled. He glanced back at the new kid, quickly apologizing. "Sorry about him. This is Tommy. Tommy this is Ranboo."

Ranboo smiled, waving at Tommy somewhat awkwardly. "Hey."

"Hi." Tommy said through gritted teeth. "Nice to meet you."

"Anyway, where did you say you were from?" Tubbo turned towards Ranboo, suddenly finding Tommy boring.

Tommy sighed, feeling the tears pool in his eyes. He sat in silence for the rest of lunch, listening to the duo talk. He didn't miss the small looks Ranboo would give him. They were looks of pity. And he hated pity more than anything.

The rest of the day went through like the other classes. Tommy had never felt so alone. What was he without his best friend?

When the final bell rung he headed to the entrance of the school like he always did. Tubbo was always a few minutes behind him since he was in a different classroom.

He watched the flooding hallways, searching for the brunette. Sure enough, Tubbo came running down the hallway, an excited look on his face.

For a moment Tommy allowed himself to smile. Tubbo finally remembered! He was as excited as Tommy was. That alone made the entire day a memory.

"Guess what?" Tubbo called, the excitement practically sweating off him.

"What?" Tommy smiled.

"Ranboo's free tonight!" the brunette exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.

Tommy's smile dropped at his words. "Ranboo?"

"Yeah, the new kid."

"Yeah I know." Tommy sighed, looking down at the ground. "Um Tubbo?"

"What?" Tubbo questioned, confusion falling over his face.

"Does Ranboo have to come? I-I was hoping it could just be the two of us... you know, like old times." Tommy began, picking at his nails. He had nothing against Tubbo. It was just that they had been planning this for the past couple weeks. Tubbo had been busy afterschool nearly every day, so any day they could hangout after school was precious. And Tommy had been looking forward to the day since they planned it.

"What's wrong with Ranboo coming?" Tubbo didn't understand.

"Can't he come some other day? It's just... every time you're hanging out with him I feel like I don't exist and-"

"Really Tommy? You don't want him to come because you're jealous?"

Tommy stared at his feet, suddenly nervous. "I just want to hangout with you Tubbo-"

"So now you're dictating who I can hangout with Tommy? Seriously? Last time I checked Tommy, you're not my only friend. I'm allowed to talk to other people." Tubbo shouted, quite a few people were looking now. "If you think you can control me like that then maybe you shouldn't be my friend, let alone my best friend."

Before Tommy could even respond, Tubbo stomped off, probably looking to find his new best friend.

Tommy swallowed, feeling the tears fall down his cheeks. Did that really happen? Did he really lose his best friend. Staring at his feet, he took a deep breath before turning on his heel and beginning his walk home.

The tears kept coming down, but he didn't care. The words kept bouncing around in his head.

He just lost his best friend.
