This is about color guard, which is a part of marching band. I suggest looking up what it is before reading this, it might make a little more sense. (The picture I put above is what it looks like)

Tommy POV

Tommy loved color guard. He loved it more than anything, it was a way to let himself free. It was a way to be himself. After all everyone had their own thing. Techno had his fencing, Wilbur had his music, and Tommy had his color guard.

Not that anyone knew, or paid any attention, because they didn't. Tommy had decided to keep his passion to himself, not wanting to seem like he was seeking attention.

Tommy excelled as a color guard, becoming better than everyone in the section. When he became a sophomore he decided to go for color guard captain, wanting to be the one to lead his section. He never thought he would actually get it. After all there were five other people who were all older than him, meaning they had more experience.

But much to his surprise he got it. He was chosen to be the captain above everyone else in his section. He was thrilled. Happy that he would be the one setting an example and glad he could share his passion with people younger than him.

One morning he woke up, thrilled that the first football game was that night. He jumped out of bed, quickly getting dressed and heading downstairs in his signature red t-shirt.

Techno glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "What's got you so excited?"

"Our first football game is tonight!" Tommy beamed. Silently he hoped his family would come to support him, like he always did. He should have known it always ended in disappointment.

"I didn't think you were that into football." Phil commented, handing a plate of toast to Wilbur.

Tommy bit his lip, looking towards his feet. "I'm part of the band Dad."

Phil thought for a moment, staring at him. "I'm assuming you have a ride there, right?"

Tommy sighed, nodding. "Yeah Ranboo is driving me and Tubbo."

"Good because Techno has a fencing tournament."

"You couldn't come to my game for once?" Tommy mumbled, a bit louder than he meant.

Phil turned to him. "Next time Tommy-"

"You always say that!" Tommy interrupted, his frustration bubbling up. "And you've never come to any of my performances. You've gone to all of their stuff, why can't you come to mine for once?"

"I'm sure I've made it to a few of your performances..." Phil began, his voice trailing off.

"Oh really? What do I do in the band?"

Phil opened his mouth to respond before pausing. "Clarinet?"

Tommy rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "You don't even know what I do." He looked down, biting his lip to keep from crying. "Will you ever support my passions?"

Before Phil could even respond, Tommy walked towards the door, grabbing and swinging his backpack over his shoulder. He sighed sadly, leaving the house.

Why can't he be supported the way his brothers were?

--------------

Phil POV

Phil stood for a minute, trying to remember the last thing he had done for his youngest. How could he not support him? Was he really that bad of a father? Had he really messed up that bad?

Techno spoke up, looking towards him. "We should go to support him tonight."

"But your tournament-"

"Isn't that important." Techno finished, looking towards where Tommy had just been. "Tommy needs our support more. Besides, I can miss one tournament."
