Tommy POV

Tommy rowed as far as he could, only barely managing to get to another island. This was the place that his character had been exiled on. Tommy dragged himself to the shore, panting heavily.

What was he going to do? He was stuck in another world. Who knows if he would ever get out.

His knees buckled beneath him, sending him to the ground. He sighed, laying on his back. His hands drifted throughout the sand, picking it up and allowing the sand to slip through his fingers. How could it feel so real?

"Tommy?"

Tommy sighed, closing his eyes. "Just kill me Dream."

There was a pause, before the monotone voice replied. "I'm not homeless."

Tommy sat up, his eyes wide. It wasn't Dream. A man stood in front of him, only a mirror of his actual friend. "Techno..."

"What are you doing here Tommy?" he asked, glaring. "And what's with the change in clothes?"

Tommy looked down, remembering that he was wearing his teal sweatshirt, the one that Wilbur had gotten him. "I-I need your help Techno."

Techno studied him for a moment, as if he knew something was off. "No." He shook his head. "You shouldn't be here Tommy."

"You don't understand I-" Tommy took a deep breath, trying to figure out the right way to tell Techno that he wasn't actually the Tommy from his world. "I'm not the Tommy you know." he began.

Techno raised an eyebrow, his red eyes trying to read him like a book. "What do you mean?"

"I'm not actually from here-"

Techno rolled his eyes. "That's not possible Tommy. You're just wasting my time." He turned towards his horse.

"Techno please."

Techno stopped, glancing back him. His eyes widened as he watched Tommy holding back tears.

"I don't know what to do." Tommy whispered, a tear escaping his eye.

His gaze softened as he sighed. "Come with me then." he held out his hand, offering to help the boy to his feet.

Tommy wiped his tear away, taking the man's hand. He smiled to himself, chuckling at the fact that Techno really did have a soft spot for him. Even if he would never admit it.

Techno lead him to his horse, helping him up before mounting behind him. They took off across the meadow, quickly moving into the snow. Tommy surveyed the land, noting that it really was the thing he had helped create.

It wasn't long before Techno's house came into view. He brought Carl to a trot before urging him to a stop. Techno jumped off the horse, glancing back at Tommy. The blonde followed before stopping.

His hand drifted across the horse's mane, earning a soft neigh in response. He smiled, still not believing that this was actually real. He looked back to see Techno observing him. He walked towards the man, stepping into the warm house.

Techno pointed him towards the couch, sitting down and patting the spot beside him. Tommy sat beside him, biting his lip.

"What did you mean you come from another world?" Techno asked.

Tommy fidgeted with the sleeves of his sweatshirt, not really sure how to answer without sounding crazy. "This world... I helped create it. Everyone is a reflection of someone in the world I come from. This world isn't really real, it's just an escape my friends and I created." Tommy looked up, scared of Techno's reaction.

The pinkette sat there, trying to process his words. "You're... not my Tommy."

"I mean I kind of am. I created your Tommy, so technically he's a small fragment of me." he explained, looking around.

"So that means... I'm a part of someone?" Techno glanced at the boy.

Tommy chuckled, "Yup. You may not look like him, but you've definitely got his personality. And his sarcasm."

Techno smiled, thinking for a moment. "So assuming that's all true, how are you going to get out of here... you know, go home?"

"That's why I was hoping you could help me." Tommy explained. Techno had to know something, he just had to.

Techno shook his head. "I don't see how I can help. I may be the best in the game, but I'm not in control of portals or things like that." He thought for a moment, looking at Tommy. It was like he knew what to say, but he didn't know how to say it. "Why did you make my Tommy betray me?"

Tommy was caught off guard, quickly turning to the older. "Betray you?"

"Yes... I sacrificed everything for you and you still betrayed me." Techno sighed, the hurt filling his face. "You threw away your loyalty like it was nothing."

The blonde took a deep breath, gluing his eyes to the floor. "You allied with the man who hurt me the most. No matter how much I looked up to you... I couldn't go through that again. Not after it almost broke me."

"But he could have helped us-"

"Like you needed help." Tommy rolled his eyes. "You're the one with over a hundred withers! What did you need Dream for? You betrayed that Tommy as much as he betrayed you."

Techno closed his eyes, covering his face. "He was my Tommy and he betrayed me..."

"Your Tommy looks up to you so much... like I do. He loves you like the brother he never had and nothing will ever change that." Tommy glanced towards him, wishing the stories in the SMP were happier.

But they never are.
