Tommy POV

Tommy was running out of concealer. There were just too many bruises too quick. Coming up with excuses was getting harder and harder. He wasn't sure how much longer he could do this. He was almost positive that Techno was catching on.

Techno always seemed to be observing him, a concerned expression on his face. He was constantly asking if he was okay and always noted his response. Tommy could have told him on numerous occasions, but always decided against it. Burdening them was the last thing he wanted to do.

So he went on day after day getting bullied more and more. He spent nearly every night crying himself to sleep, terrified to go to school the next day.

Techno was the first to confront him about it, knocking on his door.

"Come in." Tommy mumbled. He was sitting at his desk, hugging his knees.

Techno entered, slowly closing the door behind him. "Tommy..."

"What?" the blonde looked up, his once bright eyes graying. He was just to tired to act like his normal self, it was just too exhausting to keep up.

"Are you okay?" his voice was laced with worry, something Tommy had never experienced before. Techno rarely ever showed emotion, much less concern. The only emotion he ever showed was annoyance, especially towards Tommy.

"I'm fine." Tommy replied instantly, too quickly to be considered believable.

His red eyes narrowed. "You're lying."

Tommy rolled his eyes, internally screaming. He wanted to tell him, more than anything. "No I'm not."

"Tommy, you literally the worst liar I've ever met." Techno smirked, staring down at him.

Tommy chuckled but said nothing. Maybe Techno would take the hint and leave him alone, at least that's what he was hoping for. But Techno didn't do that. When he knew something was wrong, he always tried to fix it.

"So?" Techno pressed on, sitting on Tommy's bed. The sheets were untucked and the blankets were scattered. It was like he had tried to hide from the world in it.

Tommy shrugged, sitting at his desk. "School's just been tough lately, that's all." He stared at his feet, completely avoiding Techno's eyes. He knew he couldn't lie if he looked into those eyes.

"Tommy... are you sure? Because it seems like it's more than that. Ever since you talked with that teacher you've been staying after school more. And you're clearly miserable... you're not being bullied or something?"

Tommy inhaled sharply at the word 'bullied'. He wasn't a burden...  he wasn't... he couldn't be. "I'm sure."

Techno sighed, obviously knowing there was more, but he also knew that Tommy wouldn't open up if he didn't want to. He was a lot like himself in a way. "Promise me something, will you?"

Finally the blonde met his eyes, but only for a moment. "What?" he hummed, knowing full well what it was going to be.

"Promise me you'll tell me-us- if someone's bothering you. You know I have no problem teaching them a lesson they'll never forget."

Tommy giggled, a laugh that Techno hadn't heard in at least three weeks. "Yeah, I will."

"I promise." Techno corrected, narrowing his eyes.

Tommy bit his lip, "I-I promise."

That seemed to satisfy Techno and he left the room swiftly, glancing back only once.

Once he was gone Tommy let out a long breath, he had already broken his promise.

The next person to notice something was off was Phil. He didn't observe Tommy like Techno, instead he simply asked if he was okay. This annoyed Tommy to no ends, because he wanted nothing more than to run into his father's arms and confess everything. But he couldn't do that. He couldn't be a burden.
