Wilbur POV

Jasmine was perfect. I knew that as soon as I met her. In my eyes she was like an angel sent from Heaven. I could only hope that I could live up to her expectations.

Tommy was always warning me that she wasn't who I thought she was. But what could he know? After all he was still just a little kid. Jasmine advised me to simply ignore him, since he was obviously craving attention. I agreed, though I will admit I had a bad feeling about the whole ordeal.

Finally I invited her over for dinner, excited for her to meet Phil, having already met Techno at school. I could hardly get through school I was so excited. When the bell rung I raced to the car, driving it towards the entrance. I always picked up Tommy and Techno there and now Jasmine as well.

I parked in front, smiling from ear to ear. That's when I noticed something. Jasmine was whispering something in Tommy's ear and he didn't seem happy about it. I shrugged it off, not noticing how much paler he got.

I skipped around the car to the passenger side, opening the door for her. I bowed, smirking, "My lady."

She rolled her eyes, but smiled nonetheless. There was something off about it though... like it wasn't completely real. I shook it off, figuring I was seeing things. She was perfect after all.

Techno and Tommy slid into the back seat, barely making a sound. The car ride home was strange, filled with an unsettling feeling. I did my best to ignore it, but it simply wouldn't let up.

Once we arrived home we were immediately greeted by Phil.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Jasmine." Phil smiled brightly. I could only silently pray that he liked her as much as I did.

"When will dinner be ready Dad?" I asked, hoping it wasn't too far away.

"It should be done in about twenty minutes or less." Phil replied, "I'll come get you when it's ready."

I nodded, beginning to pull Jasmine towards the front door. She had never seen my room, so she didn't really know my interests all that well.

I opened my door to reveal my bedroom, allowing her to enter. It was a simple room, I had never been one for over the top things. It had normal things like a bed, a dresser, and a desk. Music sheets scattered the room, making me groan a little. I forgot to clean it.

"What's this?" she questioned, kneeling down to pick one up.

"Just some music I've been working on." I shrugged, not really wanting the attention.

"You write music?" she raised an eyebrow, but it didn't look like curiousity.

"Yeah, have I never mentioned it?"

"You did... but I was hoping you did something else." she huffed. "Something like football, or something that would make you more popular."

I didn't understand. Why did I need to be popular? Did it really matter all that much? "Popular? Does it matter if I'm popular?"

"Of course it does!" she rolled her eyes. "Don't you know anything? I can't date someone who's not popular."

Part of me felt sadness begin to pour in. She didn't like it? On the other hand... maybe this could be good for me. "What are you suggesting?"

"Give up music." she suggested. "It's obviously a waste of time."

I laughed half heartily. She couldn't be serious. I met her eyes and came to the realization that she meant what she said.

"I can't do that." I shook my head.

"Then I can't date you." Jasmine stood up, moving back towards the door.

"Wait!" I shouted, causing her to turn towards me. I couldn't lose her. Not when I had just found her.

"Yes?"

I sighed deeply, "You really think it will help me?"

"Tremendously."

I could almost hear my guitar crying out to me, but I ignored it. I bit my lip, was I really going to give up the thing I loved most for her? I did love her... it was just a sacrifice I would have to make.

"Okay."
