Tommy POV

Tommy's leg bounced anxiously as he picked at his fingernails. What were they going to say? What was wrong with him? What if they sent him somewhere? What if he never saw his family again?!

A hand gently rested on his arm, making him look up. Wilbur gave him a small smile, worry coating his eyes. "You alright Toms?"

Tommy nodded, looking away.

"It's okay to be scared." Wilbur spoke softly. "Puffy's here to help you. That's why we brought you here."

They are going to take us away!

"I don't want to be sent away." Tommy whispered as a tear escaped his eye.

Wilbur's eyes widened, shocked that Tommy would ever think that. Immediately he shook his head, pulling the boy into a hug as he began to cry. "Tommy, you couldn't get rid of us if you tried."

Tommy gripped onto Wilbur's sweater, wanting nothing more than to believe Wilbur. But he just couldn't. Because what if he was lying? If he was lying he wanted to prepare himself.

"Tommy?" a soft voice called.

Tommy slowly looked up, his eyes wide with panic. "I-I didn't do anything!"

The woman's gaze softened. "Oh honey, I know." she paused, looking up at Phil, who was standing beside her. "I think I know what's going on."

Wilbur, Techno, and Phil all looked up at her, full of hope that it wasn't serious.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke. "I believe he has Dissociative Identity Disorder."

Phil looked at her, worried by the sound of it. "Is it bad?"

"It's not life threatening and it is treatable." she reassured with a slight smile. She glanced back at Tommy who was still clinging to Wilbur, now having fallen asleep.

"What could have caused it?" Techno asked, his eyes on Tommy.

Puffy's face filled with sadness. "It was likely caused by something in his past. I believe it to be his father."

The family stiffened at that. They didn't know a lot about Tommy's biological father, but they knew how terribly he had treated Tommy and that was enough for them all to hate him.

"What's the treatment?"

"It's psychotherapy. The idea is to help him with his past and make his identities back into a single identity. The hope is that it would help him to control the disorder." Puffy explained. "It's been very successful in cases like this."

Phil nodded, "Then we'll do it. If it helps Tommy."

"I'll organize an appointment for a later date. I suggest you take it slow with Tommy, this is new to him to. And remember it's not going to be easy for him or any of you."

The family nodded.

Wilbur gently picked up Tommy, holding him close. They made their way back to the car in silence, still attempting to process all this information.

Wilbur placed Tommy in the back seat, buckling his seat belt before sliding in next to him. Techno stood in the back on Tommy's other side, not wanting to be far away from him.

The drive home was quiet, everyone lost in their own heads.

Until Wilbur spoke up. "He'll get better, right Dad?"

Phil smiled, looking at the rearview mirror. "Of course Wil. We'll make sure he does. We'll be with him every step of the way."

And they were.
