In this Tommy was adopted by Phil and Techno and Wilbur are his biological sons.

Tommy POV

It had always been a part of life, disagreements and arguments. Every family had them and the sleepy boys were no different. Especially since all of them were as stubborn as mules. But as much as it was normal, Tommy still hated it more than anything.

It had been happening more and more often, the three family members being at each other's throats. Usually Tommy would simply put headphones on to drown out the sound, but Wilbur had borrowed them and had yet to give them back.

So here Tommy was sitting in his closet, scared to death. These were the times when he remembered his past homes, the ones that were not so nice. He tried so hard to forget them, but the fights between his family always made it all come rushing back.

He hugged Techno's sweatshirt as tightly as possible while hiding his face in one of Wilbur's old beanies. They had yet to know that he had stolen them and he was too terrified to tell them. But those two things made these nights easier, they helped him calm down when he was alone.

It reminded him of the promises they had made... and broke.

"You know I'll always keep you safe, right Toms?" Techno glanced at him, smiling ever so slightly.

"From everything?" he questioned, meeting his eyes.

"Everything, but especially fights." Techno nodded, vowing, "You'll never have to listen to fighting ever again. You'll be safe as long as I'm around."

Tommy smiled, leaning into him more. It was strange how their relationship had grown over the past three months. When Tommy had first been adopted the two had been very uncomfortable around each other, probably because neither were quite sure if they could trust each other. But as time went on they grew closer, not as close as Wilbur and Tommy, but close nonetheless.

Techno wrapped an arm around his younger brother, wanting nothing more than to keep him safe. He didn't know everything Tommy had been through and probably never would. But if it was anything like his childhood, he could only imagine how terrible the memories were.

Tommy hugged the hoodie tighter, breathing in Techno's scent. He wished Techno had kept his promise. At first he had, but as time went on that vow was quickly broken.

His hand gripped the beanie as he slid it over his hair, hoping it would help him calm a bit more. He thought back to Wilbur's promise.

It had been a horrible day for Tommy, he had been picked on relentlessly and people wouldn't stop talking about his parents. He had run to his room as soon as he got home, shutting the door quickly behind him.

Moments passed as the panic began to set in. Sweat dripped down his neck, drenching his shirt. His hands trembled as they pulled at his blonde hair. He couldn't do it. He couldn't do it. Horrible thoughts racked at his brain, making the panic all the worst.

Tommy didn't even register the door opening or see the figure that entered. A hand gently grabbed his hand, preventing him from ripping his hair out.

"Tommy. Toms, I'm here. I need you to breathe, can you do that for me?" Wilbur's voice cut into his thoughts, making Tommy look up.

"W-Wil?" he stumbled over the simple word as he tried his best to focus.

"Yeah, I'm here. I need you to take a deep breath. In and out." he spoke softly like Tommy was a frightened animal, and in Wilbur's eyes he was. He was a scared kid that didn't know what to do. So Wilbur was quick to become a brother for him to lean on.

"I-I can't!" he cried, gasping for breath. He couldn't breathe, why couldn't he breathe?

"Yes you can." Wilbur pulled the sobbing teen into his arms, praying the steady beat of his heart might help him calm down. "Focus, Toms. You can do it, I know you can."

Slowly but surely, Tommy began to calm down, focusing on Wilbur's words. As his body finally stopped panicking, he slipped into an exhausted sleep. Panic attacks always took a lot out of Tommy.

He was barely awake enough to hear Wilbur's promise. "I'll always be here for you baby brother." A soft kiss was pressed to his forehead as he fell asleep.

Oh how Tommy wanted Wilbur right now. He needed his brothers more than anything, but as the voices grew louder, he knew that wasn't going to happen.

Why do people always break their promises?
