Tommy POV

The two of them, snuggled closer to each other, craving the warmth. The night was dark and cold, but at least they had each other.

"Why don't you try getting some sleep?" Tommy spoke softly, noticing the dark bags that loomed under the brunette's eyes.

"What about you?" Tubbo questioned, gripping onto his red shirt.

"I'll stay up to keep watch."

"Okay." the boy yawned, scooting closer to the blonde, if that was even possible. Within a few minutes the boy was snoring, oblivious to the world.

Tommy smiled before sighing. He glanced towards the entrance. He could never go back. If he did they would take Tubbo away and he was sure he would be trapped in the castle forever. He shook his head, resting his chin on Tubbo's head.

Nothing was going to take him away from Tubbo.

The next morning Tommy woke to the sunlight peeking in through the entrance. He yawned, gently nudging Tubbo awake. They needed to get going.

"W-What?"

"We need to get going Tubs. We can't stay here anymore." he smiled sadly.

The brunette sighed, biting his lip. "Where will we go?" he questioned, hoping Tommy had some plan.

Unfortunately Tommy didn't. "We're going on an adventure Tubs. There is no destination."

Tubbo's eyes widened as he processed what Tommy had just said. "You mean... you're leaving being a prince? Can you even do that?"

"Nope, but I don't really care. I'm happier with you than I am being a stupid prince." Tommy squeezed his hand reassuringly. He slowly got to his feet, bringing Tubbo with him.

"Won't they come looking for you?"

"Yeah, they will." Tommy shrugged. "But I'm a lot more sneakier than they think I am." He chuckled, leading Tubbo out of the cave. Once he made sure the coast was clear, they began running.

------------

Years Later

Tommy gently patted his cow, stroking his fur with a smile on his face. "Hey Henry, how are you today?" he asked.

The young cow nuzzled into his shoulder, mooing softly.

Tommy laughed, hugging the cow. "You're the best Henry."

"Tommy!" a voice called, making him perk up. Tommy sprinted towards the brunette's voice, scared that something was wrong.

Instead he found Tubbo with a basket in his hand and a smile on his face. "Come on!"

Tommy chuckled, jogging to the boy. They ran hand in hand like they had once before, heading for their special place.

Meadows surrounded them, filled with thousands of different kinds of flowers. Trees lingered on the other edges, providing shade for when the sun was too hot. Pools of water flowed into rivers, feeding the entire plain.

Tubbo set down the basket, immediately laying on the ground and closing his eyes. Tommy grinned, laying beside him.

The two began looking at the clouds like they always did, recalling memories and dreaming about the future.

"Do you ever regret it?" Tubbo asked suddenly, making Tommy look towards him in confusion. "Leaving everything for me."

"Not for a moment." Tommy said without hesitation. "I'm only truly happy with my best friend by my side."

"But what about your family?" he questioned, his ordinary brown eyes meeting Tommy's blue ones.

"You're my family."
