A Question of Reality (Tommy and Techno) (3/3)

Tommy POV

"Where are we going again?" Tommy whined, his feet dragging behind him.

"You said you wanted to get out of this world, right?" Techno asked, glancing behind him. The snow continued to fall around them. Tommy wrapped Techno's cloak tighter around him, trying to grasp as much warmth as it would supply.

"Yes."

"Well I might know of someone who can help you." Techno explained, walking ahead.

Tommy's eyes widened at the older's words. "You do? Who?"

"DreamXD."

Tommy stopped in his tracks, staring at the pinkette. "You know how to summon DreamXD?"

"You don't?" Techno paused, his eyebrows raised. "I figured you would know everything since you helped create it."

"Well I don't know all the writing... I leave it mostly to Wilbur." Tommy explained, running a hand through his hair.

They began walking once more, shuffling through the snow.

Techno spoke up, "What's Wilbur like in real life? Is he the same?"

Tommy shook his head, a smile on his face. "He's a lot nicer in real life. He's actually really good friends with you in real life."

Techno hummed in response, glancing at his compass. "Really?" 

"Yeah." the blonde nodded. "You, me, Wil, and Phil are really close in real life."

Techno chuckled, "And you didn't want to put that in the thing you created?" He looked at the object in his hand before looking up at the horizon. "I mean I'm close to Phil and Wilbur, but you and I kinda fell apart."

Tommy swallowed, sad the subject was coming up again. "Like I said... you betrayed me as much as I betrayed you."

"Whatever." the man scoffed. 

Tommy shrunk down a bit, distancing himself a little bit. 

Suddenly Techno stopped, his eyes glued to the ground. He took out two shovels, tossing one to Tommy before beginning to dig.

"What's this for?" the blonde asked, confused.

Techno stopped, staring at the younger. "Most people would use it for digging. Do they not have shovels in the real world?"

Tommy rolled his eyes, cursing under his breath. He forgot that Techno was still the Techno he knew. "Yeah I know that! I'm not stupid... bitch."

"Are you sure? You just asked what a shovel is meant to be used for." 

"I meant what are we digging for." Tommy glared, sighing.

"We're going to summon DreamXD." Techno said simply, going back to digging. Tommy sighed, before helping. They continued to mine below before Techno suddenly stopped. His hand stretched out as he ran a finger along it. He smiled before mining into the walls.

He climbed into the small room, turning around to look at Tommy. "You coming?"

"Why are we in a stronghold..." Tommy still didn't understand.

Techno sighed, "Can you just trust me a little?"

Tommy bit his lip before reluctantly nodding. He climbed into the small room, his eyes wide. It looked too fake to be real, combined with the sounds of mobs. Looking around, he swallowed nervously.

Techno looked down at him, his gaze softening. "Hey don't worry. You got me remember? I'll protect you."

Tommy met his eyes, searching for any sign of dishonesty. He was surprised to find none. He had forgotten how loyal Techno truly was. "Thanks Techno."

"Don't mention it Toms." Techno walked ahead, leading Tommy towards the portal room. He made sure to keep Tommy shielded from everything, to ensure he was safe at all times.

Finally they stepped into the portal room, Techno quickly breaking the spawners. Without a second glance, he began mining away at the portal. 

"What are you doing?!" Tommy asked, watching the block shatter to pieces.

Techno shrugged, "This summoned DreamXD last time. I figured it would work again." 

A flash of light appeared from no where and a figure appeared. A mask covered his face, slightly different to Dream. DreamXD stepped forward, his fists clenched.

Techno stepped in front of Tommy. "This Tommy needs to go home. He's not from this world."

DreamXD studied the two of them, he crossed his arms, seemingly glaring in disbelief.

"I'm from outside of this world." Tommy began, fidgeting with his fingers. "I'm not supposed to be here. You can check, the actual Tommy is somewhere else in this world. I'm not him."

DreamXD paused, holding on finger up, insisting it would only take a moment. He disappeared into the wall for a moment before reappearing. He flew to the top of the portal, looking down at the two. He held his hand out to Tommy.

Tommy took a step forward before he was pulled back. Turning towards Techno, he was surprised by his grip. "Techno, what is it?"

"I miss my Tommy." he whispered.

Tommy sighed, shifting from foot to foot. "I'll try to change that. I promise." he sighed. "Everything I said was true Techno. No matter what, even if I don't change it, Tommy still loves you and looks up to you. That will never change."

Techno nodded, allowing his arm to fall. He looked at Tommy for a moment before engulfing the boy in a hug. Tommy stiffened in surprise before allowing himself to melt into the hug. A moment passed before Techno stepped back, offering a small smile.

"See you around Toms."

Tommy smiled, waving. "Bye Tech."

And then he took DreamXD's hand. Disappearing almost as soon as he made contact.
