Tommy POV

Tommy had always been close to Wilbur. For as long as he could remember, Wilbur had always been the most important person in his life. They shared a connection that no one else really understood. But it always made sense to them.

The two of them helped each other through everything. Tommy was always helping Wilbur with his band. Encouraging him and even helping to write a few songs. Without Tommy, Wilbur would never have had the confidence to even share his music. In return, Wilbur was always there for Tommy. Helping him through everything, especially those nights where the hate really got to him. Or when his anxiety got out of control. They never really realized how much they needed each other until the idea of Wilbur moving out threatened to tear them apart.

Tommy had always known the day was coming, but he never predicted how quickly it would come. But expecting it didn't make it any easier. In fact, the more it was mentioned, the more upset he would get. Tommy would spend hours crying himself to sleep every night, always trying to be as quiet as possible. He didn't want Wilbur to see how upset he was, he didn't want to ruin Wilbur's excitement.

And Tommy was excited for him. But he was also terrified beyond words. He didn't want Wilbur to move out like Techno did. He didn't want to be left behind. And he certainly didn't want Wilbur to move on without him. A part of him was afraid that Wilbur might not come back. And that thought upset Tommy more than anything.

But nevertheless, Tommy acted like he always did. Loud and obnoxious, always finding ways to bicker with Wilbur. But it wasn't for fun like it usually was, it was forced. He could only hope that Wilbur wouldn't notice, he didn't need more to worry about. Not that he seemed to anyway, he was too focused on his new life and the thought of exploring what the world had to offer.

That night Wilbur began to pack, moving all his belongings into his car. He asked Tommy to help him since Phil was busy with work. The blonde agreed, of course, but it wasn't easy, especially with the feeling that a tsunami of emotions could come out of him at any point. But he pressed on, making a point to avoid Wilbur's room at all cost. He knew what it would look like. Empty and lifeless. And Tommy knew he couldn't handle that. He had learned that from Techno's room.

Tommy had just finished moving the last box when Wilbur approached him, smiling and offering, "Let's go hang out in my room Toms. There's plenty of room to do whatever we want in there now!" He just wanted to spend time with his little brother before he left.

Tommy gulped, avoiding Wilbur's eyes. He knew he would break with one look. Taking a deep breath, he tried to push his confidence. "Why in your room? There's l-literally nothing to do in there!" he exclaimed, hoping Wilbur wouldn't notice his stammering.

"I was going to play my guitar..." Wilbur began, watching Tommy's expression carefully. He knew Tommy loved listening to him play. Again, Tommy could feel the tears building. He wouldn't be able to hear Wilbur play anymore... No, he wouldn't cry, not now.

Tapping his fingers against his leg, he shook his head. "Can we do it in my room? I-I-" he stopped, taking a shaky breath. Was his voice really that scratchy?

Instantly Wilbur's grin disappeared, finally sensing something was wrong. "Tommy, what's wrong? Are you alright?" he spoke softly, his eyes searching Tommy's face to find a hint of what was wrong.

Tommy tried to hide his surprise, immediately dropping his gaze. But he knew Wilbur had already caught it. The concern on his face was enough evidence. He tried to play it off, "Of course Wil! Heck, I'm counting down the days until I can finally move into your-r room!" he paused, hating the lies that came through his teeth. "I-I should say my room." Brown eyes met blue eyes. Just the concern alone was enough to crack. You'll probably never see concern like that again, a voice inside reminded him. He could feel his heart beginning to crack.

"Tommy-"

"I-I have to go finish some homework! Sorry-y Wil-l!" he exclaimed, not even caring how much his voice crack. All he cared about was getting out of there before the conversation started. Don't cry, don't cry, he begged himself. But the waterworks had already started, blurring his vision as he darted up the stairs.

Wilbur watched after him, confused to say the least.
