What Happened Between Us? (Tommy and Rowan) (4/4)

Rowan POV

Rowan was terrified to open her eyes in fear that all her hopes would be crushed. She knew that she wouldn't be able to handle that. So instead she laid there, hoping sleep would take her once more.

Suddenly she felt herself being shaken awake. "Ro?"

Was it really him? Slowly she opened her eyes open, immediately they went wide. There sat her big brother. Tommy.

Without a moment's hesitation she threw her arms around him, pulling herself as close as possible. Tears leaked from her eyes, but she paid no mind. He was here. Tommy was actually here. "I-I can't believe it's you!" she sobbed into his chest.

Tommy held her tighter that, pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "It's me, Ro. It's me." A few of his own tears escaped his eyes, but he was too focused on her to really care. He softly began whispering apologies. "I'm so sorry I've been away for so long. I didn't mean to-"

Rowan pulled away and met his eyes, sighing. "I-I'm just happy you're home." Of course she was angry, but she chose to express that some other time. She just wanted to be safe in his arms. 

Tommy nodded, resting his chin on her head.

Tommy and Rowan laid on the couch, snuggled up together. Lani had gone home, wanting the two of them to catch up. Plus she wanted to see Tubbo, since he had come home with Tommy.

Rowan refused to leave Tommy's side, not that Tommy minded at all. He was worried about her.

Up played quietly on the TV, but neither of them were really paying attention.

"There's a reason I came home Ro." Tommy began, grabbing her hand gently.

Rowan bit her lip, looking away. She could guess what her mom had told him. "And what's that?"

"Mom said you haven't been eating." Tommy told her softly, glancing at her with his eyes full of concern. Rowan said nothing, keeping her eyes glued to the TV. "Ro, why haven't you been eating?"

Rowan closed her eyed, wishing she was anywhere else. She knew she couldn't lie to him. She could never lie to Tommy. "I just haven't been hungry." she shrugged.

"You haven't been taking care of yourself at all since I left." Tommy commented, shaking his head. He knew it was his fault. "I should have called, I should have visited. You should not have to deal with this again."

"It won't get that bad this time." Rowan tried to reassure him.

"I know, because I'll be here to look after you." Tommy offered her a slight smile.

"You can't! What about the SMP and-" she began. She didn't want him to give up his dream just for her. Sure she missed him, but that still didn't make it right.

"I'll be back with them soon enough. But I want to make sure you're okay first. You're my priority right now." he explained.

"Are you sure?" 

"Of course." Tommy said, pulling her closer to him. "I'm never leaving you like that again."
