I'm Not Giving Her Up (SBI) (2/?)

Tommy POV

I slowly opened my eyes, feeling something shift beside me. My eyes widened as the previous night came rushing back to me. Joy yawned, rubbed her bright eyes before looking at me.

I smiled, "Good morning Joy."

Joy looked at me shyly. "Can... can I stay with you?" 

My heart melted at the sight. I was quick to nod, "Of course. I won't let anyone take you away from me."

A knock on the door made me look up. "Tommy? You in there?"

Before I could refuse, the door opened, allowing Techno to enter. He froze as soon as his eyes laid on the girl. "Who is that?!" he exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"I-I saved her." I replied, pulling her closer to me. I wasn't letting Techno take her, I couldn't.

"Saved her? From what?" Techno asked, still standing still.

"She was all alone on the street-"

"So you took her?!" Techno shouted. "PHIL!"

Oh no, how would Phil react? My body stiffened as the man appeared. Joy, who could sense my fear, hid behind my back.

"Who is that?" he asked calmly, too calmly. Calm Phil was scary.

"This is my daughter." I said confidently.

"Tommy you can not just kidnap a child." Phil stated plainly.

"I didn't!" I argued, annoyed that he would ever think such a thing. But then again I was related Techno... so I guess it made sense. "She needed me so I helped her!"

"Tommy, we've been over this. You are not ready for this responsibility." Phil sighed, shaking his head disapprovingly. "We can call an adoption center tonight and drop her off-"

"No! I'm not getting rid of her!" I shouted, terrified by the idea of her being left all on her own. She was just so young and so vulnerable.

"Tommy..." Techno began, but I could tell he had no idea what to say.

"Then I'll leave! If I can't keep her here then I'll go somewhere else. Somewhere we can both be safe." I decided, jumping to my feet and beginning to pack a bag.

"Where are you going to go?" Phil raised an eyebrow.

"That's none of your concern." I replied shortly, moving past them to get to my things.

"Tommy you can't just leave-"

"Watch me." I glared, grabbing the last things I needed before picking up Joy. "I'm eighteen, I can move out whenever I want to." 

I left my room, Techno and Phil following behind. They were exchanging concerned looks, probably thinking that I wasn't serious. But I was. I was dead serious. If I can't have Joy, then I can't stay here.

Wilbur raised an eyebrow as I entered the kitchen, clearly taking note of my bags. "Going somewhere?" he asked.

"I'm leaving."

"Leaving? To go where?" he said, panic spreading through his tone. He caught sight of Joy, "Wait, who's that?"

"Doesn't matter." I rolled my eyes, grabbing snacks.

"Tommy, you can't just leave-"

"Well I am!" I shouted. Why did everyone think they could just control where I lived? Joy flinched, and I immediately apologized. "Sorry Joy." I murmured as she clung me.

"Tommy, you're not giving yourself time to make the decision." Wilbur began. "And this is a really big decision. Why not wait a day, and we'll talk about this once you've calmed down."

I considered his offer, knowing I should probably take it. After all I needed to figure out where I was going... and all the other minor details. "Fine."

The three of them looked relieved at that.

"Good we can-"

"But Joy stays with me. I don't care what you think."
