Tommy POV

"Stop being selfish Tommy."

"I'm busy Tommy."

"Will you just quit bothering me?"

"Go away Tommy."

"You're not my first priority right now."

Tommy wasn't sure how much more heartbreak he could take. As years past nothing ever seemed to change. They were the same words like they always were.

At first Tommy had his brothers, who tried to be there for him. But even they began to ignore him.

"Not right now Tommy."

"Can't you do your own homework?"

"Why are you here Tommy?"

"Can't you see I'm busy Tommy?"

Tommy got so used to the lack of attention that he started to believe it was normal. He began to talk less, becoming much quieter. He was hardly Tommy anymore.

Everyone noticed, and everyone worried.

"Are you sure you're good to walk home all by yourself?" Tubbo asked, glancing at the blonde.

Tommy nodded, kicking a small rock between his feet. He kept his head down, refusing to look anyone in the eye.

"We can walk you, you know." Ranboo reminded him, exchanging a look with the brunette.

"I don't want to be a bother." Tommy muttered.

"You're not!" Tubbo exclaimed, horrified by the mere thought.

"Tubs, I can walk by myself. It's not a big deal." Tommy gave him a small smile.

"But what if something happens?" Ranboo questioned.

"Nothing's going to happen." Tommy rolled his eyes at their concern. "I'll see you at school tomorrow." He waved, walking off without even waiting for a response.

The sky darkened as he walked, foreshadowing a storm as it rolled in. He picked up his pace, hoping to get home before getting soaked. Luck wasn't on his side as the first raindrops began before his house wasn't even in sight yet. He sprinted through the growing puddles, trying to saw his backpack from getting wet.

He sighed in relief when he reached his driveway, quickly making his way to the front door. That's when he realized no one was home. He dug through his bag, hoping he had remembered to grab his keys before he left.

He groaned as he quickly realized he forgot them on his desk. Slowly he grabbed his phone, staring at it for a moment. He knew his family wasn't going to pick up. Was there even a point in trying? It would just make them mad.

Tommy quickly dropped his phone back into his pocket, swinging his bag back over his shoulder. He began walking. Where? He wasn't sure. He figured that if he just kept walking eventually he would get somewhere.

He walked for about thirty minutes before he finally stopped. He looked up, his eyes widening when he realized where he was.

He had walked all the way to Purpled's house.

He closed his eyes, trying to think of the last time he had talked to the boy. It had certainly been a while. Would he even remember him?

Tommy shivered in the cold, deciding it was worth a try. He walked up to the door, hesitating before knocking twice.

Footsteps echoed from inside the house before the door swung open.

There was a gasp. "Tommy?"

Tommy slowly looked up, unsure of what to really say. "Hey Purpled..."

"What are you doing out in the rain?" Purpled demanded, grabbing the blonde and bringing him inside.

Tommy bit his lip. "I-I uh... I got locked out of the house." he admitted, not meeting the boy's eye.

Purpled's eyes widened. "Phil didn't let you in? Are you serious?"

"He wasn't home."

Purpled pulled him into a hug, much to Tommy's surprise. The blonde leaned into the touch, hugging back tightly.

"I'm so sorry you have to deal with that." he said, slightly pulling out of the hug to look into his blue eyes.

"It's fine-"

"No! It's not!" Purpled exclaimed. "Phil neglecting you and treating you like garbage is far from right." He shook his head. "I'm not letting you go back to that house."

"What?" Tommy stared at him. "Where am I going to go?"

"You're staying here." he told him.

"I can't ask you-"

"Tommy." Purpled grabbed his shoulder. "You deserve love."

Tommy felt his eyes fill with tears at his words. "But I-"

"No. You deserve it." Purpled smiled. "Because you're worth it. You're worthy of attention."

Tommy burst into tears as he realized he was right. Phil had no right to treat him like that. Purpled was quick to pull him back into a hug.

"It's okay." he whispered.

"You've got me now, I'll take care of you."
